Andrew and I like to say that we met at a wedding, but the truth is I really just spotted him at said wedding. After the wedding, I was texting the bride like crazy - things like "who is he," "what's his info," "I have to know him." Eventually, she gave me his info, and I realized that I had friended him years ago because he was tagged in her post, and I thought he was so cute. When we finally got to talking to each other, it took about a week for Andrew to ask me, "What are you doing tomorrow?" To which I replied."You're not gonna believe this, but it's my birthday, and I actually have no plans." Here's the sentence I still get giddy over because it's so out of character for him, but the next text Andrew sent said "Well, if you want me to, I'll take you out to dinner." After that, we worked out the logistics of him picking me up at my house, which I made him guess the address of, and laughed about how determined he was to figure it out. After that first date, it's all been uphill from there. Every day, I thank God for the man that he sent my way. Andrew is absolutely everything that I have ever prayed for in a man, and I couldn't love anyone more. He is my person and I'm so blessed to get to spend forever with him!
We got engaged on May 12, 2023.
Andrew bought the ring in February, and I was completely oblivious. After several months of trying to find the perfect place and date, he settled on May 12. On the day of, it poured, which meant Andrew had to find a new location. After three location changes, he finally settled on the gazebo in downtown Hartselle. Everything else fell into place and we wouldn't change a thing!!
