It all began with a Jeep ride. One warm June evening in 2017, a mutual friend (a big thanks to Will Labonté) persuaded Curtis to take Kennedy on an off-road adventure. Though initially reluctant—understandably, since his friend had volunteered his Jeep without his knowledge—Curtis agreed to pick up this mystery girl. He had no idea he was about to meet the woman he’d one day marry.

From that very first Jeep ride, Curtis and Kennedy were inseparable. Their summer was spent chasing sunsets, grabbing late-night pizza, enjoying ice cream dates and, of course, taking countless Jeep rides—the soundtrack to a blooming romance. Their easy friendship soon turned into something more, something undeniable. Kennedy and Curtis are a true testament of what it means to fall in love with your best friend.

Early on in their blossoming friendship, Kennedy surprised Curtis with a birthday day trip to Manitoulin Island. What she didn’t know was that Curtis had a surprise of his own. While hiking the Cup and Saucer Trail, he stopped to carve their initials into a tree inside a heart. Then, adding a "Y" and an "N," he handed Kennedy the knife and asked her to circle one. (Yes—it was cheesy, and yes—Curtis knew it.) Kennedy circled "Y," and in that simple moment, they unknowingly marked the beginning of a lifelong journey. They’ve returned to that tree year after year, watching their carving stand the test of time—just like their love. It was only fitting that Curtis chose that very trail to propose, bringing their story full circle.

Since that summer, they’ve built a life full of memories and milestones—Kennedy earning her Bachelors of Social Work, Curtis starting his electrical apprenticeship, buying their first home, adopting their two sweet kitties, Luna and Ellie, and most recently, getting engaged.

Now, they’re ready for their greatest adventure yet—marriage. Surrounded by the friends and family who’ve supported them every step of the way, they’re excited to celebrate the beginning of their next chapter—one full of love, laughter, and, undoubtedly, more ice cream dates!
