Our story began where you would probably expect it...Grind...haha just kidding. Kenny first met Ryan while on his Surgery rotation during medical school in San Diego, CA. While on a lunch break, Kenny saw he had a new friend request on Facebook: Ryan, an Army Logistics Officer at Fort Meade, MD.

After getting home that evening (December 2nd), Kenny went through his phone and noticed the profile picture attached to the friend request was of a very handsome man and accepted. Fearing the unknown, Kenny hesitated to send a message. Kenny is still unsure of what mustered the courage...possibly his roommate at the time Taylor Strickland giving some much needed encouragement, noticing that his FB mutual friends were all gay men, or maybe the glass of wine he had while watching RuPaul's Drag Race...Kenny decided to send a wave emoji that would change our lives forever.

It turns out that Ryan was gay, Kenny has a face that Ryan "could never forget," and Kenny and Taylor ran around the apartment screaming in excitement. As Kenny finished up his last few weeks in California and prepared his move back to DC, the two spent time texting, talking on the phone, and FaceTiming (Kenny's doing) and eventually Ryan asked Kenny to grab drinks when he returned to the Nation's capital.

Two weeks later on December 14th, Ryan and Kenny had their first date at King's Street Oyster Bar on M St NE in Washington, DC. A night full of talking, laughing, a forgotten wallet with a run across the street and yes, a kiss would be the spark that ignited Ryan and Kenny's beautiful love story.
