K: I would argue there wasn't exactly fire...

T: I had to fight off a Marine Regiment on the island of Okinawa during Covid for her attention...

K: Ooookay, I wasn't THAT popular. Besides, I'd known about this mysterious "Andrews on night shift" for a while. When I finally got to meet him, we got to know each other over the next few months, and I started to think I'd found a forever friend.

T: Kenzie was quiet when I met her, and I slowly got to learn how intelligent she was. We learned more about each other through board games and long nights while working in the same office.

K: ... and I got to see how kind and thoughtful he is and all his other great qualities. We started dating January 24th, 2021, and soon, I knew that he was going to be so much more to me than a forever friend.

T: After coaxing her out on dates and sharing my love of movies with her, I learned I wanted to stop looking for another partner. So, I made a promise to Kenzie back in June of 2021.

K: We promised devotion to each other, and although it wasn't the right time to get married, we knew that after we left the Marine Corps, we wanted to make it happen.

T: We had to go long-distance for some time. After neither of us decided to reenlist, I left Okinawa first, then several long months later, Kenzie was here, and we found a home in Virginia. We have met friends, each others families, and spent time learning how to live with each other.

K: Enter one, Sir Jaster T. Smittlemitten, then Lucina G. Wysterian (that's how they prefer to be addressed, we just comply). Shortly after, we got engaged on June 29th, 2024, over two plates of french toast in our small apartment in Manassas, Virginia.

T: Kenzie had moved in the year before, and I had planned to propose back in 2023, but sometimes, life has a way of putting you down when things are getting good. Kenzie stayed through the tough times, and I didn't want to let an opportunity pass. After making breakfast for us and enjoying time with our two precious cats, I decided that then was now or never. I had received her parents' blessing and knew that there was no time like the present.

K: Of course I said yes. How could I not? This man has kept me going when I didn't think I could, and he helps me create the best memories that I will cherish forever, and he happens to be an amazing, one-of-a-kind sort of guy. So, here we are...

K&T:

Even if you are unable to make it, just know we both appreciate the support and friendship that each of you provides. Thank you for reading our story and celebrating with us, wherever you will be!
