A New Hope:

Dan and Kenzie's paths collided while working amidst the bustling chaos of an emergency department in Colorado. Shy, quiet, subtle… The two were anything but. As fate would have it, their shared exuberance and goofball antics ignited a spark that quickly turned ablaze.

Murphy Strikes Back:

A year into their relationship, Dan surprised Kenzie with an unexpected addition to the family: Murphy, a rescued German Shepherd. Initially, Murphy grappled with many fears, most notably a comedic aversion to stairs that had him leaping headfirst into the front door. He soon found his footing and now dutifully guards their Denver home, engaged in a bitter stalemate with the US Postal Service—which currently refuses to deliver mail to their residence. Woof.

Return of the Gnar:

It hasn’t always been blue skies. The couple weathered a pandemic, managed a long-distance relationship while Kenzie pursued her medical studies in Oregon, and contended with Dan's incessant attention to every detail of emergency department development and flow. (Safety never takes a holiday.)

Despite these challenges, the duo found togetherness and adventure in the outdoors, carving out time for ski-mountaineering and alpinism. Fittingly, Dan proposed on a narrow ridge atop an Alaskan peak, kneeling on both knees for added stability. Yet, amid their escapades, they both acknowledge the best of their relationship lies in the people they ski down with and to.
