We love Encinitas and come here a few times a year to hang out! We highly recommend staying at a hotel or AirBnB here; below are some of our favorite things to do in the area:
The Taco Stand (Food)
The Taco Stand is a lunch/dinner place in downtown Encinitas with the best California burrito money can buy! Kevin's choice: California Burrito, loaded with salsas from their salsa bar and a Modelo on draft.
D-Street (Beach)
Near downtown Encinitas. Large, open beach with epic sunset views. Fun waves and great for beach walks- Maili's favorite.
Omni at La Costa or Carlsbad Crossings (Golf)
Two great golf courses nearby- Kevin's never golfed at either but if he could, he'd go here! :)
Downtown Encinitas (Everything)
You can spend a whole day in downtown Encinitas- great coffee, bars, breweries, restaurants and beaches... and Taco Stand (get the California burrito).
San Clemente is where we live- "right up the street" from Oceanside, take the I-5 North for 20-60 min (depending on traffic...) and you'll land in our paradise! Maili was born and raised in San Clemente and teaches first grade here at Concordia Elementary.
Del Mar (Shopping, Food, Drinks)
Del Mar is the main road in downtown San Clemente. There are countless gems on this strip but we recommend:
- Docent Brewing
- Nomads Cantina
- Seasurf
- Hobie Surf Shop
Los Molinos Beer Company (Brewery and Food)
T-Street (Beach)
Great beach to hang out
South of Nicks (Food)
Get the butter cake!!!
San Clemente Outlets (Shopping)
Spend a bunch of money and get some dinner at Asada
Spend the day here and wine taste from a bunch of great wineries!
