Although fate's first attempt failed, it was Ismac's cousin Ritchelle who introduced us in our junior year of high school! (S/O to you Ritchelle :) ) She showed each of us the other's Instagram, but we were at different stages and not yet ready for each other. Ironically, a few months later we ran into each other at Jersey Gardens Mall. It was memorable rekindling, since Keyana startled Ismac by yelling in the middle of the food court, "Hey! You're Ritchelle's cousin. She showed me a picture of you!" And Ismac's response was a tentative "Hello" (cue *bombastic side eye*). After a beat of awkward silence, Keyana, with her infectious smile, bid her farewell. We went separate ways, so fate's second attempt failed yet again. However, late August of that same year we reconnected through IG DMs. They always say third times a charm and it surely is. From there our love story began. We spent COUNTLESS days together; trips to any and everywhere you could think of, especially when we got our first cars. You couldn't tell us anything! We were OUT! Driving up and down Jersey, NYC, and Philly, we couldn't (and still can't) get enough of each other. One thing that has always united us and continuously strengthens our friendship is our love for adventure. We suppose this answers the overarching question, why get married in Mexico? We LOVE to travel, explore new places, and create new memories. Getting married, while on vacation with our loved ones is a dream come true. How did we meet?

Keyana: How can I choose just one?! Theres an endless list on why I love my man. One of my top reasons I love Ismac is because of how supportive he is. Whether I’m sick, upset, happy, in need of encouragement, laughter, or just someone to lean on; Ismac is ALWAYS there. And I never have to ask him, he just knows. Also, to see how he not only supports me, but his family and mine as well. 🥹💕 In the faces of hardship and success, Ismac is always prepared to help me be my best. He’ll not only tell me what I want to hear, but when needed what I need to hear. He’s a realist. Through the greatest times and darkest times of my life, he never left my side. And for that, I am FOREVER grateful. I’ve never had to question his love or loyalty because it shows through his actions. I could not ask for a better soulmate and best-friend. I love you!🫶🏽 Ismac: One thing I love about Keyana is how generous she is. Keyana will literally give her last and won’t think twice about it. Through the happy and sad times, Keyana has always stayed by my side and supported me. She is my partner, my love, and my best friend all-in-one. She is patient with me, always hears me out, and validates my feelings and opinions. Through her actions, she’s shown me that giving and doing for your partner will in return make you feel good. There is way more than one reason why I love this woman. She’s smart, beautiful, creative, a go-getter and the list goes on. But, most importantly I love her because she is a empath and always wants to help and give. *Stay tuned for our vows to hear the many other reasons 😉*

What is one thing we love about each another?

Keyana: Life isnt easy, but its for sure easier together (Alexa play You Make Me Better by Fabolous). We’re going to learn new things about each-other all of the time. It may be something that one loves and the other doesn’t, but, just like it is now, communication will continue to be our best friend. We’ll respect each-other and our difference of opinions. We’ll talk through it and grow from those difficult, yet real conversations. And to always remember 2 negatives never equal a positive. Remember when we first started dating, and whenever we’d argue, I sent the music video to Mad by Ne-Yo? (for those of you gasping, who doesnt have arguments.. lol). That song still applies to our relationship now, and our desire to never go to bed angry. I’d also like to remind us to prioritize our devotion to God and each other. We are marrying each other because we love each other. While we respect and love our families and friends, God, our marriage, and our household will come first. And, as your wife that is what I will live by. I love you and I can’t wait for our forever marriage filled with endless love, memories, and happiness. Ismac: Some advice I would like to give to our future selves is to keep communication as open as possible. Also, to never hide anything from each other, except for birthday's and Christmas gifts lol. Early in our relationship we learned how beneficial and important communication is and being up front with one another. Being able to communicate about the sensitive and important subjects, without judgment, is very comforting and makes me feel at ease talking to you. Communication is something that I definitely want to keep active in our relationship. Along with communication, I want to continue to learn and grow with you and to experience this beautiful thing we call life. As I’m writing this I’m still wondering how God has blessed me with such a beautiful person who loves me for me, acknowledges my ideas, and always has my best interest at heart!

Registry

The wedding is scheduled for Tuesday, November 11th. We've reserved a room block for 5 days &amp; 4 nights from November 9th - November 13th. Guests can alter their check in dates for either 3 days pre Nov. 9th or 3 days post Nov. 13th for the same rate of your room choice. This only applies to the block rate for 5 days/4 nights. Additional days will alter the total amount. Average price is $970 per person for a 5 days/4 nights stay in a resort view with balcony for 2. Upgrades to different rooms will vary by price based on the hotels current promotion when you book. Hotel is all inclusive. Any upgrades will be extra. Transportation is included when booking 4 nights or more. Please be aware that the ride to the resort is around an hour and a half. Airfare is not included. You have to book with link to be included in the wedding block. Payment plans are available if you choose the Flexible Rate option. Arrangements made outside of these links will not be included in the wedding block. Final payments are due 31 days before your check in. You can book your reservation on your phone. However, I do recommend booking it on a PC.

Resort Credits

At the moment, your Palace Resorts app may not show “Resort Credits”. However, if you booked 4 nights or more(which most of us did), you did receive them. Due to the transfer process, the credits temporarily disappeared from the system, but the resort is manually adding them back to all reservations. Please allow a few days for everything to be updated. Rest assured — you still have your credits and will be able to use them during your stay. Spa Reminder:If you’d like to use your resort credits at the spa, you can apply up to $150 toward your service. You’ll simply pay the remaining balance out of pocket at the time of your appointment.

🎉 Great News: All Rooms Transferred!All rooms have now been transferred to Moon Palace Cancun – Sunrise. Confirmation letters should be sent out by tonight or tomorrow. About Your Room: Superior Deluxe Garden View on Sunrise

Due to the last-minute resort change, these were the only rooms available to accommodate all of our guests. Moon Palace Cancun is a larger property with more amenities and bigger rooms than Moon Palace Jamaica. Because of this, your room would normally cost more than what we originally paid. The resort has generously waived the price difference, so there is no extra charge for you. All rooms come with a jacuzzi, a balcony with chairs, and a hammock for relaxing in paradise. If you would like to upgrade your room, this can only be done at check-in. Please do not contact the resort beforehand, as availability can only be checked upon arrival. If an upgrade is available, you will be responsible for paying the difference at that time.

TRANSFERS & LUGGAGE

Once you receive your confirmation email from the resort, please download the “Palace Resorts” app: <a href="https://apps.apple.com/app/id1411599607" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://apps.apple.com/app/id1411599607</a>. Log in using the name your reservation is under and your reservation number. Once you’re logged in, you’ll see a bubble labeled “Transfer” — this is where you can set up your transportation. The process is very straightforward and should only take a few minutes. Important: All transfers include one large suitcase, one carry-on, and one personal item per person. Per resort policy, if you bring more than two pieces of luggage plus a personal item, the resort will charge for a separate van at $112 roundtrip (arrival and departure).We understand this is a significant fee, so please pack accordingly to avoid any extra charges.

Updates

IMPORTANT WEDDING UPDATE - LOCATION CHANGE We're keeping everyone in Jamaica in our thoughts and prayers during this time. As we all know, Hurricane Melissa is currently impacting the island, and unfortunately, what comes next remains uncertain. Although the resort itself was not directly damaged, we have not yet received confirmation on the condition of the surrounding roads, airports, infrastructure, drinkable water, importation of food and necessities, mosquito control(the Prime Minister recently mentioned concerns about Dengue Fever), or electricity and internet. After speaking directly with the resort, their recommendation is to relocate the celebration to Moon Palace Cancun. This change became official today. All room reservations will automatically be transferred by the resort - there's no need to rebook your stay. The only action needed on your end will be to adjust your flights. We've spoken with United Airlines, who confirmed that if flights to Jamaica need to be canceled, guests will receive a flight credit to use for rebooking. If you purchased a refundable ticket, you'll have the option to request a full refund instead. We understand this is very last-minute and a significant change, but this decision ensures everyone's safety and comfort while allowing us to still celebrate together. Moon Palace Cancun is also an all-inclusive resort, even larger than the Jamaica property - with more restaurants, pools, bars, and activities to enjoy throughout your stay. We completely understand that this sudden change may affect some guests ability to attend, but we kindly ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you will no longer be joining us.
