Although fate's first attempt failed, it was Ismac's cousin Ritchelle who introduced us in our junior year of high school! (S/O to you Ritchelle :) ) She showed each of us the other's Instagram, but we were at different stages and not yet ready for each other.

Ironically, a few months later we ran into each other at Jersey Gardens Mall. It was memorable rekindling, since Keyana startled Ismac by yelling in the middle of the food court, "Hey! You're Ritchelle's cousin. She showed me a picture of you!" And Ismac's response was a tentative "Hello" (cue *bombastic side eye*). After a beat of awkward silence, Keyana, with her infectious smile, bid her farewell. We went separate ways, so fate's second attempt failed yet again.

However, late August of that same year we reconnected through IG DMs. They always say third times a charm and it surely is.

From there our love story began.

We spent COUNTLESS days together; trips to any and everywhere you could think of, especially when we got our first cars. You couldn't tell us anything! We were OUT! Driving up and down Jersey, NYC, and Philly, we couldn't (and still can't) get enough of each other. One thing that has always united us and continuously strengthens our friendship is our love for adventure.

We suppose this answers the overarching question, why get married in Mexico? We LOVE to travel, explore new places, and create new memories. Getting married, while on vacation with our loved ones is a dream come true. We hope to create everlasting memories with you as we welcome you to celebrate this new life and chapter together!

Keyana: How can I choose just one?! Theres an endless list on why I love my man. One of my top reasons I love Ismac is because of how supportive he is. Whether I’m sick, upset, happy, in need of encouragement, laughter, or just someone to lean on; Ismac is ALWAYS there. And I never have to ask him, he just knows. Also, to see how he not only supports me, but his family and mine as well. 🥹💕


In the faces of hardship and success, Ismac is always prepared to help me be my best. He’ll not only tell me what I want to hear, but when needed what I need to hear. He’s a realist. Through the greatest times and darkest times of my life, he never left my side. And for that, I am FOREVER grateful. I’ve never had to question his love or loyalty because it shows through his actions. I could not ask for a better soulmate and best-friend. I love you!🫶🏽


Ismac: One thing I love about Keyana is how generous she is. Keyana will literally give her last and won’t think twice about it. Through the happy and sad times, Keyana has always stayed by my side and supported me. She is my partner, my love, and my best friend all-in-one. She is patient with me, always hears me out, and validates my feelings and opinions. Through her actions, she’s shown me that giving and doing for your partner will in return make you feel good. There is way more than one reason why I love this woman. She’s smart, beautiful, creative, a go-getter and the list goes on. But, most importantly I love her because she is a empath and always wants to help and give.

Keyana: Life isnt easy, but its for sure easier together (Alexa play You Make Me Better by Fabolous). We’re going to learn new things about each-other all of the time. It may be something that one loves and the other doesn’t, but, just like it is now, communication will continue to be our best friend. We’ll respect each-other and our difference of opinions. We’ll talk through it and grow from those difficult, yet real conversations. And to always remember 2 negatives never equal a positive.

Remember when we first started dating, and whenever we’d argue, I sent the music video to Mad by Ne-Yo? (for those of you gasping, who doesnt have arguments.. lol). That song still applies to our relationship now, and our desire to never go to bed angry.

I’d also like to remind us to prioritize our devotion to God and each other. We are marrying each other because we love each other. While we respect and love our families and friends, God, our marriage, and our household will come first. And, as your wife that is what I will live by. I love you and I can’t wait for our forever marriage filled with endless love, memories, and happiness.

Ismac: Some advice I would like to give to our future selves is to keep communication as open as possible. Also, to never hide anything from each other, except for birthday's and Christmas gifts lol. Early in our relationship we learned how beneficial and important communication is and being up front with one another. Being able to communicate about the sensitive and important subjects, without judgment, is very comforting and makes me feel at ease talking to you.

Communication is something that I definitely want to keep active in our relationship. Along with communication, I want to continue to learn and grow with you and to experience this beautiful thing we call life. As I’m writing this I’m still wondering how God has blessed me with such a beautiful person who loves me for me, acknowledges my ideas, and always has my best interest at heart!
