Our Love Story

Picture of Our Love Story

Kianna and Isaac met back in the summer of 2015 at Washington Park. Kianna had met up with some friends who invited her under their tent to meet the rest of their group. Isaac was too nervous to talk to her. They connected over social media, and after a few invites to play in some tournaments, they started playing volleyball together more and more. The connection and chemistry they shared on the court started to radiate into their personal connection as well. After a couple of years of just being friends and volleyball teammates/partners, they decided to take their friendship to the next level in the summer of 2019. After only a month or so of playing volleyball as a couple, Kianna tore her ACL. This would end up being a time in their relationship that she realized how much deeper their connection ran than just volleyball. In 2020, the global pandemic hit, and the two quarantined together. This was the time that Isaac realized how deep their connection was, as Kianna put her health on the line to take care of Isaac who got extremely sick from COVID. After countless volleyball tournaments, leagues, and mini weekend trips, the couple went to the Big Island of Hawaii with Kianna’s dad’s family in June 2023 to celebrate her grandma’s 80th birthday. Isaac decided that he was ready and this would be the time that he would ask the love of his life to spend the rest of their lives together. The first morning on the island, the family decided to go on a sunrise hike at Pololu Valley. At the top of the lookout point, Isaac told Kianna to face the ocean, so he could take her picture. When she turned around, he was down on one knee. And the rest is history!
