WHY MAINE?

Well for anyone who knows Kevin, Maine is his happy place. And he was quick to share with Kim, inviting her go to Maine with him (on the 3rd date!). It was such a magical place and when trying to decide where we wanted to celebrate, we knew Maine had a special place in our hearts.

WHY A SUMMER CAMP?

Why not?! We knew we did not want a traditional wedding and wanted to have a full weekend with our guests to spend quality time and celebrate, but also show why we love Maine so much. And when trying to come up what our non traditional wedding would look like, we knew we wanted our guests to stay onsite at our venue. We stumbled upon a summer camp in Maine and we were sold. Adult summer camp?! A weekend on the lake, with our closest friends and family, while having an entire summer camp to ourselves…how could we say no?!

DO WE HAVE TO STAY ONSITE AT THE CAMP?

Technically no. You do not have to stay onsite at Camp Mataponi, however we highly suggest it. We understand "camp life" might not be for everyone, but please keep in mind that getting Ubers/Lyfts are very difficult in this area. If you plan to drink, we recommend reserving a room! If you are not staying onsite at camp with us, you will be responsible for all your meals for the weekend (besides the welcome dinner & wedding reception). We still would love for you to join us in the weekend festivities.

PRICING

Estimated pricing is $150 per night per person. We are working with the camp on getting costs as low as possible for our guests. Please note that this is an all-inclusive price that will include lodging, all food, drinks & activities for the entire weekend.

WHY DO I NEED TO PAY PER PERSON?

The camp is all-inclusive! This price covers your lodging and all meals. Linens will be provided which include sheets, pillow, blanket, a towel and a beach towel. Lodging and accomodations can be very pricey in Maine in the summer. We wanted to provide a more cost-effective all inclusive weekend for our guests. We are looking forward to being able to spend more quality time with each and every one of our guests all weekend long!

WHATS INCLUDED IN THE LODGING PRICE?

EVERYTHING! All meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner), linens and access to the entire camp is included. The bride and groom will be providing the welcome dinner for their guests and (of course) the wedding reception. Everything you should need will be at the camp! The goal is for our guests to not have to leave the camp all weekend long.

DO I HAVE TO STAY ONSITE ALL 3 NIGHTS?

No, you do not, but the camp does have a 2 night minimum. Options are provided for either a 2 night or 3 night stay.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Linens will be provided which include sheets, pillow, blanket, a towel and a beach towel. Feel free to bring any additional pillows, blankets or towels you may want. All main meals will be provided all weekend, but you are welcome to bring any snacks. We will be providing alcohol for the welcome dinner and wedding reception, but the rest of the weekend is BYOB. If you're driving, feel free to pack a cooler! There will be sunscreen and bug spray onsite, but if you have any specific types you like, please bring. If you plan to hang out on the private lakeside beach, we recommend bringing a beach chair if that is your preference. The camp has a few lounge chairs for us to use, but we want to make sure all guests have comfortable lounging options. Layers: While it will be summer, up in Maine temperatures do drop at night. We recommend bringing sweatshirts/sweatpants/ or jackets, etc to throw on at night. Each guest is provided with blankets in their cabin.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

We know you’ll miss them but please leave your fur babies at home. We have special permission to bring Schooner (who is just as obsessed with lakes as Kevin) but no other dogs or pets are allowed at the camp.

DO WE HAVE THE ENTIRE CAMP TO OURSELVES?

YES. We are renting the entire camp out and will have full access to the camp all weekend long.

IF I AM NOT STAYING AT THE CAMP, CAN I STILL EAT MEALS THERE?

No - unfortunately meals will only be provided to the guests staying onsite at the camp. This is one of the many reasons we highly recommend staying at the camp with us for the weekend! You are more then welcome (and encouraged) to visit throughout the weekend but you will be responsible for your own meals. This does not include the welcome dinner and wedding reception. If you are not staying at the camp, you will need to RSVP to the welcome dinner.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

While most of the weekend is very laid back and casual vibes, for the welcome dinner please dress in cocktail attire and for reception, please dress in semi-formal attire. Note: The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside. Please plan your shoes accordingly. The reception will be held indoors.

Have any dietary restrictions?

When you book your cabin and/or RSVP for the wedding reception, there will be a section for you to note any dietary restrictions or allergies.
