Kim and Mike met at the airport, waiting at the gate, on their way to Jackson Wyoming. They started chatting, waited the entire flight to exchange numbers at baggage claim, and went on several dates in Jackson during Mike's annual ski trip with the boys. After Kim beat Mike at darts several times, they quickly knew it was love.

It did, however, take dozens of love letters, the COVID pandemic, working on Mike’s Rendezvous Farm, and two broken fingers to figure out they should really be together. Unfortunately, this also meant long distance from Maryland to Laramie, Wyoming. They spent several months apart before deciding to spend over a month together traveling in Velma the van, through snowy ski season. 5 degree weather, hoping they didn't get snowed in on a mountain pass, and teaching Chessie to be a winter dog really brought them together.

After finishing graduate school, Kim joined Mike on his farm in Maryland. In the opposite sense, the heat, wasps, fireflies, river lounging, and outdoor cooking showed them another way of living in love. After making the decision to manage a farm in New Jersey, Kim quickly found a teaching job and it seemed all too easy. One year after that, they bought a house together in Stockton, New Jersey and have spent many spare moments making it their home.

They decided to propose to each other in Costa Rica over Thanksgiving of 2023, and 8 months later, be married!
