Jeff and I have a pretty exciting story about how we met… one that a lot of people don’t believe.
At the time we were both living in Richmond, and Jeff says it was a beautiful day, so he decided to take his dog, River, for a walk. While they were out, he noticed a building nearby that was on fire. Naturally, he started heading over to see what was going on, getting closer and closer…
Just kidding.
We actually met the same way a lot of people our age do, on a dating app. Not quite as dramatic, but it worked.
Jeff and I hit it off right away when we met in person. We went to the Hoff for drinks and ended up calling it an early night since it was a weekday, but I remember leaving that night already knowing he was someone special. I couldn’t help but be drawn to the confidence and warmth that radiates from him.
As we kept seeing each other, we realized how much we had in common including our love of baseball, dogs, spending time outdoors, and the fact that both of our families are in Virginia Beach. It felt like our lives had been slowly circling each other all along.
Very early on, Jeff did a huge favor for my mom and me that really showed me the kind of person he is. He is someone who goes out of his way to care for his friends and family, someone who shows up without hesitation, and someone who makes everyone he talks to feel like a best friend. Not to mention an amazing dog dad of four!
I am so lucky that I found my best friend in Jeff. He is the person who makes me laugh, frustrates the hell out of me, supports me through everything, and makes everyday life better. And now I get to marry him!
