Our Wedding

Joe Grammar and Kim Tran's love story began in a Business Ethics class at the University of Oklahoma. Joe was a Texan native who later relocated to Edmond, while Kim was born in Saigon and later moved to Edmond. After reconnecting later in college, Joe plucked up the courage to ask Kim out on a date with the help of Zach Litton. Luckily, she said yes, and they started seeing each other frequently. Joe was immediately drawn to Kim's intelligence and kindness, and he found himself wanting to spend more and more time with her. They explored Norman together, went on several trips, and even attended a few football games. It didn't take long for them to become inseparable. In 2017, they welcomed their first son together, Oliver, a medium-hair kitty kat. After graduating from college, Joe and Kim decided to move to Dallas together to begin their careers. They found a cozy apartment in the heart of the city and began exploring all that Dallas had to offer. They tried new restaurants, attended concerts, and made new friends. Joe and Kim fell even more deeply in love, and they knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. In 2022, during Kim’s birthday trip to Las Vegas, Joe proposed to Kim on a picturesque rooftop overlooking the glittering lights of the city. Surrounded by their closest friends, Joe got down on one knee and asked Kim to marry him. Overwhelmed with joy, she said yes, and they spent the rest of the weekend celebrating their engagement. Over the course of six years, they blended their families seamlessly, and their love only grew stronger with each passing day. In 2023, they visited Kim's hometown of Saigon, Vietnam, together, where they were welcomed with open arms by her extended family and friends. They explored the city, sampled the local cuisine, and even held a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony to introduce Joe’s family to Kim’s. Their love story was one for the ages, a timeless tale of two souls who were always meant to be together. As they looked forward to all the adventures that lay ahead, Joe and Kim knew that their love would continue to flourish and that they would be forever bound in the bonds of a love that was pure and true.

During the reception, the bride and groom will be wearing traditional Vietnamese attire known as áo dài. We will be making our way around to each table to greet our guests personally and show our thanks to those who made the effort to celebrate with us. Each table greeting will end with a big cheer and a sip of your drink (or a shot if you're feeling feisty)! You may also see red envelopes being gifted throughout the night, as they are a symbol of energy, happiness, and good luck. These envelopes are filled with money and given as a wish for prosperity to loved ones. And last but certainly not least, we have a special treat in store for you: a lion dance performance! Kim's little cousins have been practicing all year for this moment, and we can't wait for you to see their hard work pay off. We are thrilled to share our Vietnamese culture with you and can't wait to celebrate with all of our beloved guests!
