They say your first beer pong partner will become your soulmate.

Or something like that.

But that's essentially how Kim and Rob's relationship started out. They first met at a mutual friend's party in college at NIU. (Thanks, Nick!)

Rob noticed Kim's hockey knowledge while watching the Blackhawks game in between quarters of the NIU football game, which led him to ask her to be his beer pong partner later in the night.

The rest is history.

They started dating about a month later after getting to know each other a little better--and with an encouraging push from Kim's friend, Crystal!

They faced many obstacles early on in their relationship with things like school, jobs and living over an hour away from each other, but they overcame them all and their relationship was stronger because of it.

In January 2019, Kim and Rob celebrated their fifth anniversary together. They've created so many fun memories along the way, especially by attending and watching countless hockey games, of course! One of their biggest adventures was getting Sharpie, their Great Dane puppy, in October 2018. Needless to say, he keeps them on their toes on a daily basis!

Their next major adventure began on June 7, 2019, when Rob finally got down on one knee and asked Kim to "be [his] best friend forever" over a home-cooked steak dinner in their kitchen. Of course, she said yes!

Kim and Rob are now planning their next biggest adventure and they can't wait to share their planning experience and wedding day with all their family and friends.
