In March of 2018, Eric went to visit his best friend Kyle at the University of Kentucky. Kimberly met Kyle the year before and had been friends with him since, so when Eric came to visit, Kyle introduced the two. When Eric tells their story, he says Kimberly spent the rest of that night running from him at the bars. Kimberly says she was just bar hopping with her friends and he couldn't keep up. The world may never know the truth! :)
Eric was living in Virginia and after graduating from Kentucky, Kimberly moved home to the Chicago area, so they communicated long distance until a few months later, in November, when Eric went out to visit Kimberly and they officially started dating. This marked the beginning of their long distance relationship, which would last for 3.5 years. Eric was working full-time in VA and Kimberly went down to Clemson for her master's. After Kimberly graduated in May of 2021, she moved back to Chicago and began her teaching career. They visited each other every chance they could, and frequently had virtual date nights when they weren't together.
In March of 2022, Eric transferred to Ann Arbor, MI as Kimberly was finishing up her first year teaching in the Chicago area. In May, Kimberly was accepted to Michigan State University for her PhD and moved to Lansing when her classes finished. They finally lived in the same state!
December 2022 featured a few major highlights for the couple! They bought a condo halfway between the two cities - no more long distance! Right after the closing date, the two set sail for a cruise through the Caribbean. Eric asked Kimberly to marry him on a beach in Grand Cayman, and she said "yes"! When they returned, they moved into their home as a newly engaged couple and brought home a puppy shortly thereafter!
In October of 2024, after 6 years together, the couple will celebrate the next chapter of their love story with all of you: their family and friends. They appreciate the support and encouragement you've provided while they grew their relationship over the last few years and are thankful for that continued support in their married life together!
