Our Wedding

Family and friends,&nbsp; We are so excited to invite you to join us on our special day. We met each other when we were two 19 year-old kids studying at American University. Since then, we have traveled the world, moved to London, and rescued our beloved dog Luna - building our life together.&nbsp; As we embark on this important chapter, we could not imagine celebrating our wedding without you. The Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD) is the main international airport for the city. The airport is a quick 25 minute uber/taxi ride to the city center or a 30 minute journey with public transit using the Madrid Metro. Bonus tip: Set a flight tracker on Google Flights for your expected travel dates, as the prices may drop day-to-day.

Getting around Madrid is very easy using the public transport network. Buses and metro connect the city center to neighboring communities. We recommend picking up a metro card as not all buses accept Apple Pay. For app-based taxis, Uber and Bolt are the two main ride-sharing apps. We recommend downloading both if you are planning to use this form of transport. Bonus tip: On the Google Maps app, you can download the Madrid city map for offline use.

Getting Around Madrid

Hotels and Lodging

As the wedding venue is a 30-35 minute drive from the city center, we recommend staying in or around the center for a quick transit. Although we are staying at the NH Suecia, we recommend looking at both hotels and airbnbs to find what best suits your visiting group. We have hired buses to and from the venue to central Madrid (C. de Sevilla, 3, Centro, 28014 Madrid, Spain - in front of the Four Seasons) for those interested. We are attaching several recommended hotels below which are near our Friday welcome party venue and the bus pick up location for the wedding, however, please reserve what works best for your group! Como el lugar de la boda está a 30–35 minutos en coche del centro de la ciudad, recomendamos alojarse en el centro o en sus alrededores para un traslado rápido. Aunque nosotros nos alojaremos en el NH Suecia, les sugerimos ver tanto hoteles como Airbnbs para encontrar lo que mejor se adapte a su grupo. Hemos contratado autobuses de ida y vuelta entre el lugar de la boda y el centro de Madrid para quienes estén interesados. Adjuntamos a continuación varias recomendaciones de hoteles que se encuentran cerca del lugar de la fiesta de bienvenida del viernes y del punto de recogida de los autobuses para la boda, sin embargo, ¡por favor reserven lo que funcione mejor para su grupo!

From spending your days with Dali to sangria at sunset, Madrid is full of wonderful things to do. We have attached some of our favorite tourism sights, restaurants, cafes, and bars below.

Spend the afternoon walking through El Retiro Park, where you can get lost in the gardens and palaces, go paddling in a pond, or enjoy a nice drink at one of the many cafes!

Getting around Spain is very easy with the high-speed rail, buses, or through rental cars. Some great places for day trips include seeing the medieval castles in the cities of Toledo and Segovia, doing a wine tour in the Ribera del Duero, or seeing the mountain town of San Lorenzo de El Escorial.

Madrid is home to several famous food halls which house hundreds of local cafes, bars, and restaurants. From the original Mercado San Miguel to newer markets, such as Mercado de San Ildefonso and Mercado de la Paz, we recommend going with an empty stomach and sampling all the food!
