Our Wedding

Kimberly moved to Denver in April 2021 for new frontiers after a second Covid lock down and 15 years in San Francisco. She knew in her first few days that the Mountains were going to be home for a while. Soon after, she jumped back on the dating apps and started talking to Brian. He had lived in Denver for 12 years and 2021 felt like it was going to be his year. They met for their first date on a Thursday &amp; that weekend Kimberly went on a road trip to Western Colorado. As always, the 70 highway was full of traffic &amp; accidents on her ride home. Brian checked in our her and kept her company on the phone while she sat in 3+ hour traffic. By then she knew he was a good one (&amp; they shared A LOT in common)! Their relationship grew that Summer with delightful dinners &amp; bday celebrations (1st photo ever captured here) and Brian meeting Kimberly's family when they were in town for Mom's 70th. Brian taught her niece Julia how to play Atari &lt;3 and hung out with the Petska's ALL day...their love blossomed that weekend to a whole new level. They continued to share their love for one another and travel with adventures to 5 countries, 7+ music festivals, 10+ ski resorts and multiple mountain road trips. Their favorite times together are blasting country &amp; 90s hip hop playlists and tackling a hike, new mountain town and some good eats at a hidden gem. Brian proposed on the cliffs of Santorini, Greece in May 2022 and it was a beautiful surprise. When they returned to Denver, they've enjoyed renovating their house in Sloans Lake and preparing for their family years ahead in parallel to wedding planning.

Kimberly & Annie have been dear friends since high school, University of Illinois undergrad and many visits to San Francisco and now Denver.  Her smile & zest for life is contagious and she's a wonderful mom to her 3 children in their hometown of Orland Park, IL.

Jaime and Brian have been friends their entire lives, before the internet existed. From playing Nintendo together to the wee hours of the morning all the way to building servers and networks for local businesses as consultants, both have shared a love for all things technology.  After 44 years of knowing each other, they cannot find a single picture of them together.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I CAN’T MAKE IT? OR MY PARTNER DECIDES THEY CAN'T ATTEND? You and/or they will be missed! If you and/or your partner can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.&nbsp; ARE KIDS WELCOME?&nbsp; While we love your little ones, our Saturday Wedding Reception will be an adults-only event except for a few family-related children. So everyone can relax and enjoy the evening we appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home or with childcare in hotel/family so you can celebrate with us. That being said we understand some would like to travel with their lil ones, so children are welcome for the Friday night Welcome Party and to see us walk down the aisle on Saturday afternoon. WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? IS THERE A DRESS CODE? The dress code for our Wedding Reception is semi-formal. April in Denver can be 70s or snowing, eek.&nbsp;So as the date nears, please visit weather.com and plan for 4 seasons and swings in temp accordingly.&nbsp;Friday will be an indoor/outdoor event, so we DO recommend coats &amp; layers.&nbsp;While Saturday events from Church to the Reception will all be Indoors. WHERE ARE THE CEREMONY AND THE RECEPTION TAKING PLACE?&nbsp; The Banshee House for Friday Welcome Event, 6-9pm.St Dominics for Saturday Wedding Ceremony, 1-2pm.The Maven Hotel For Saturday Cocktail Hour, 5pm, and Reception 6-11pm.&nbsp; WILL THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS? The Saturday wedding ceremony will take place indoors in church. The reception will also be indoors.The Friday Welcome Event will be mostly indoors but guests have an option to also sit outside on the heated patio and will also be where the BBQ food is served.&nbsp;So coats &amp; layers are recommended. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CEREMONY? After the ceremony, a Shuttle bus will bring guests back to the Maven Hotel, around 2ish.&nbsp;Feel free to visit the Dairy Block establishments or Milk Market for a small tasty treat or drink.&nbsp;But be sure to leave room for Happy Hour &amp; Appetizers that begin at 5pm and then Dinner at 6ish.&nbsp;&nbsp; CAN I BRING A DATE? We have a strict guest list to stay within our Max Capacity for the venue.&nbsp;Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. WILL THERE BE ANY VEGAN/VEGETARIAN/GLUTEN FREE/SPECIAL DIET OPTIONS? Please let us know in advance if we need to accommodate special diets. WILL TRANSPORTATION BE PROVIDED BETWEEN TO/FROM THE HOTEL? Yes, for the Saturday Ceremony! We will update this space with the shuttle times to/from The Maven Hotel to Church and back.&nbsp;But expect shuttles to run from ~11am - 3pm. CAN I TAKE AND POST PICTURES OF THE WEDDING ON SOCIAL MEDIA? Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on their social media channels! Our only request is that you tag us in your favorite pictures! Or a 5 minute Uber ride.)Join us for a country cowboy/girl celebration with our favorite local BBQ, cocktails, toasts and tasty treats.Attire: Flannels, boots (if you have them) or anything country like! WEDDING DAY. Saturday April 29thAttire: Semi-Formal St Dominics Church Wedding Ceremony, 1-2 pmShuttles will take Guests from The Maven Hotel to Church &amp; back. 5pm. Cocktails &amp; AppetizersPoka Lola @ The Maven Hotel 6pm - 11pm. Wedding Reception.Windsor Room @ The Maven Hotel DIRECTIONSPlease fly into Denver International Airport (DEN). Ubers to/from Hotel to airport $40-60 one way based on time of day. Or there is a (30 minute) train to Union Station, which is walkable (5 mins) to/from The Maven Hotel for $10.50/pp/way. Rental cars may not be needed, as everything is walkable, easy Ubers or shuttles to/from Maven Hotel.

Travel

We expect most to fly in to Denver for a Friday to Sunday visit. For Friday before the 6pm Welcome Event at Banshee House on Larimer St:- Larimer Street itself is full of the best breweries (Radio), wine bars (Barcelona - the same owners as the CT location), tequila outfits (Federales), etc in Denver. Great quick food spots too....Cart &amp; Driver pizza, Denver Central Market (which has a little bit of everything), too. Feel free to grab a favorite drink before or after our Welcome Event. Brian &amp; Kimberly spend A LOT of time on Larimer &amp; that RINO area so highly recommend it. Breakfast &amp; Brunch Ideas. Your room rate comes with free coffee in the room AND a cup daily at Huckleberry Roasters (one of Denver's fav) in the Lobby. Make sure you indulge!Top Breakfast/Brunch Ideas, walkable from Maven:- Snooze @ The Union Station train station. (also houses many great cocktail spots and casual food too!)- The Delectable Egg- Syrup- Denver Central Market....Food Emporium with a lil bit of everything- Milk Market (attached to hotel). Crepes, Donut, pastry shops.

Sunday there is nothing planned for the Wedding but plenty to do to explore Denver OR the nearby Mountains. For a nice Sunday Funday, here are some reco's: - City side. Walk to Rockies stadium, the REI flagship with Platte river trails, day eats &amp; drinks on Larimer St or the Source Hotel in the RINO neighborhood. On Sundays, you can find vintage clothing pop ups &amp; just cool stuff as the season is changing from Winter lockdown. - For more of a road trip day, drive to &amp; through Rocky Mountain National Park. ~2 hour drive from Denver/Airport and ~2 hours through the Park. No hiking per se, but great views &amp; pull offs. - Golden, CO or Evergreen, CO. ~30-45 mins from the City, these two towns are on the slope right before the mountain towns start. They are known for cute towns full of shops, restaurants and breweries and have nice hiking trails, if weather allows.
