Jackson Hole has the luxury of having its own airport, just a short drive from town. Sit on the right side of the plane to be more likely to get an amazing view of the Tetons.

Flying into Idaho Falls, ID (about a 2 hour drive from Jackson) or Salt Lake City, UT (about a 5 hour drive from Jackson) are other options if you are renting a car.

If you are feeling adventurous and don’t want to miss Yellowstone National Park, you could also fly into Cody, WY airport (an approximately 4-5 hour drive from Jackson, pending buffalo traffic). On this route you will pass through Grand Teton National Park. Stop by Dornan’s for a drink or some pizza with the best view!

If you are looking to explore the National Parks, Teton Village, or get out for a day trip, we highly encourage you to rent a car for your stay. Find information here. Note that some of the hikes we have listed under "things to do" include rough dirt roads, so opt for the higher clearance cars if you plan on those adventures. Also note that some of the rental companies require that you take their free shuttle a significant distance to their car lot in town, so please read the fine print if you don't want to add that extra time onto your travel day home.

There are cabs available at the airport. Cabs may be the most reliable mode of transportation to get to destinations around town on your own schedule if you choose not to rent a car. Here are a few options:

Uber is quite limited, and sometimes more costly than alternative transportation methods.

You can find public transportation routes and schedules at www.startbus.com. Stops along the Town Shuttle routes are free, while Teton Village, Star Valley, and Teton Valley connections require a small cash fee. Start On-Demand is a new free ride service provided around the Town of Jackson. You can request a pick-up via their app. Let us know how reliable/timely it is - we haven't tried it yet!

We encourage you to stay in the town of Jackson as opposed to Wilson or Teton Village to avoid summer traffic in and out of town. Staying near the town square will keep you close to where most of the shops, restaurants, and bars are located.

Book your accommodations early, as September is still considered "peak season" in the area!

If you want to stay close to the venue and plan to spend time in Yellowstone, The Hatchet Resort and Teton Cabins (where we'll be staying after the wedding) both give a cozy ranch feel. There are also some great accommodations in Grand Teton National Park if you plan on spending a lot of time there. For all of these options, expect some serious traffic if heading into town in the afternoon and evening.

We have listed several 3 and 4 star hotels located in town with at least 4-star google review ratings below. Some of these lodgings offered us discount codes or booking links, while others we just think would be nice places to stay. There are also options through Outpost Vacation Rentals (reach out to us for a 5% off discount code), Airbnb, and Vrbo.

Living in Jackson, we haven't stayed at any of these lodgings, so do your research and read your reviews. Please be kind and patient with hospitality staff because this tourist town is over-worked and under-staffed.

Finally, a fantastic budget option that will also afford great views and adventure activities is to camp in Grand Teton National Park. Many of the campsites have decent facilities available for campers, and sites such as those near Colter Bay, Signal Mountain, or other areas in the northern part of the Tetons will be relatively close to the wedding venue.
