When do I need to RSVP by?
We ask that you RSVP here on our Knot website by March 31 so that we can confirm the final headcount with our caterer.
What's the dress code?
Our dress code is formal (similar to black tie optional). Feel free to wear a tuxedo or long gown, if you have one and want an excuse to wear it, otherwise a dark suit, dressy jumpsuit or formal cocktail dress is just fine, in any color you feel best in! In terms of weather, our ceremony and reception will be indoors with our cocktail hour likely in a covered area, depending on whether rain is in the forecast.
Is there a theme for the wedding?
Our wedding decor and bridal party colors—marigold yellow and light green—reflect our love for birds and wildflowers! You are welcome to wear floral patterns if you love flowers as much as we do, but please feel free to wear whatever colors or patterns you’d like!
Are children invited?
While we love little ones, our wedding is an adults-only event.
Can I bring someone who is not listed on my invitation?
Due to space restrictions in our venue, only those people named on your invitation, or included as a "plus one" designation, will be able to attend.
What's the parking situation?
Street parking may be available on Stockton Drive, or within a short walking distance of the venue. However, depending on how busy it is, we'd recommend building in extra time to find a spot if you plan to use street parking.
There is a paid parking lot at 2400 N. Cannon Drive (at Fullerton and N. Cannon), which closes at 11 PM. Parking rates range from $30–40 for that lot and it's about an 11 minute walk from there to Cafe Brauer.
There is also parking affiliated with the Chicago Historical Society near Clark and LaSalle, at 1730 N. Stockton Drive. This lot is a 9 minute walk to the venue and costs about $40 for the day.
If you are driving to Chicago and it's possible to leave your car at your hotel and take a taxi or ride-share to the venue, it can drop you off right outside Cafe Brauer!
Is your wedding *in* the Zoo?
Not quite! Cafe Brauer is on Lincoln Park Zoo property and affiliated with the Zoo, but we won't be tying the knot next to the lion enclosure. The building is just south from the main Zoo area, adjacent to a boardwalk and overlooking a lovely pond. The building is a famous Chicago landmark at almost 120 years old, built in the Prairie architectural style. We think you'll find it as stunning as we do!
Are you changing your name(s)?
We will both be keeping our current names!
What time should I arrive at Cafe Brauer?
Our wedding ceremony will begin at 5 PM, so we ask that you arrive shortly before to have some time to get seated before the ceremony starts.
Can I take pictures/videos during the ceremony?
We ask that guests let our photographer handle all photography/videography during our ceremony and focus on enjoying this moment with us without phones! However, we would LOVE your photos and videos during our cocktail hour and reception - in fact, we will have a QR code at each table for you to scan and upload them to a shared drive!
Will Noodle and Otie be present at your wedding?
Since Noodle is a tuxedo cat, it would be very fitting to have him at a formal event. However, both he and Otie need their 16+ hours of sleep each day, so they'll be at home snoozing while we celebrate.
I have a question that isn't answered here. How do I get in touch with you?
Feel free to send Klara an email at klarabhenry@gmail.com.
