Our Wedding

Yep - we met on line.  Had the coffee shop meet up and it went so well that Madeline asked Kokie to try her luck for the first real date at Cantinetta on a Friday the 13th!  

First Date

Madeline had a Fulbright to the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium during the spring of 2018.&nbsp; Kokie escorted her and Bear there and visited a couple of times.&nbsp; On the second visit, Kokie arranged a romantic dinner at a restaurant on the river (photo shows the place).&nbsp; With a ring made of foil and string, Kokie popped the question.

Unsure what ring Madeline would choose, Kokie improvised and made a ring of string and foil.

In March 2020 as the pandemic roared forth, Madeline and Kokie decided the wedding would have to be postponed.&nbsp; Venue and vendors were contacted and we hunkered down for the year.&nbsp;

Pandemic Postponement

March 2021 arrived with vaccinations and a glimmer of hope that things would re-open.&nbsp; &nbsp;We decided to go for it - we moved the&nbsp;reception to a tent, and revved up the planning!&nbsp; With the support of Natalie at Fort Worden and&nbsp;our fearless wedding planner, Tanya, we are ready to celebrate!&nbsp;

Raised by Kokie and Rockee as a guide dog puppy for the blind, Hedinger guided a woman for 6 years before retiring and returning to Seattle to learn how to be a pet.  He is panting with anticipation about being a ring bearer with his best buddy, Bear.

A total love monster, Bear can’t wait to be part of the wedding ceremony.  Known for his super cuddling skills and barking whenever Madeline and Kokie kiss he will surely add unexpected spice to the ceremony.

This is a hotel option for those who would prefer to stay in Port Townsend instead of at Fort Worden.

Bishop Victorian

Fort Worden has a variety of accommodations from Victorian officer homes to cottages and even a one bedroom castle.  We will be staying at Fort Worden.

This is one option for those that want a hotel in the town of Port Townsend. There are also places to stay at Fort Worden and also rooms blocked at the Bishop Victorian in Port Townsend

The Swan Hotel

PLEASE NOTE: Port Townsend is&nbsp; approximately 3 hours from Seattle and you can either take&nbsp;a ferry&nbsp;- either the Seattle -&nbsp;Bainbridge Ferry which leaves from downtown Seattle (about every 40-50&nbsp;minute)&nbsp;or the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry which departs from Edmonds about every 40-50&nbsp; minutes&nbsp;- Edmonds &nbsp;is about 30 minutes&nbsp;north of Seattle. OR - if you are South of Seattle you can drive around to the Kitsap peninsula and then north to Port Townsend (about 2 hours from the airport depending on traffic).&nbsp;The roundtrip ferry&nbsp;cost is $40.80. There are no reservations for these ferries so you may have to wait in line for an hour.&nbsp;&nbsp;See link below&nbsp;to Washington state ferry schedule for more information.&nbsp; &nbsp;
