What is the dress code?

Black tie optional! We want you to look and feel your best, and have an excuse to come dressed to the nines to celebrate, but don’t want you to shy away from fun colors and patterns or stretch your budget to come. Just make sure you can still drop it low and party in whatever you choose!

What IS black tie optional? Will I be overdressed?

Generally, black tie is another way of saying formal wear, but has more rigid rules. Adding in the “optional” gives you all a lot more flexibility in what to wear. We want everyone we love to have an excuse to dress up and show out, because we will be doing the same! Below is a great reference to guide you if you still aren't sure: https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-formal-black-tie-optional-black-tie-invited For men, don’t feel restricted to wear only dark colored suits or neutral ties, jazz it up or wear a colorful shirt underneath a classic look. For women, you can wear just about anything formal, be that a knee-length sparkly dress, an evening gown, or a colorful jumpsuit. These are NOT hard and fast rules, so please add your own spin to the dress code, and do not go out of your way to rent or buy a tux just for us.

What about kids?

We kindly ask that unless otherwise specified in your RSVP cards, you leave your children at home.

How do I get there?

If you are staying at the 1820 House, there are shuttles that will be running to bring you to and from the venue. The last shuttle to the venue before the ceremony starts will be at 4:45 pm, so be sure to factor that time into your getting ready schedule. You can always use Uber or Lyft, but under no circumstances do we want any of our guests driving with any alcohol in their systems.
