Connected because of their moms' friendship, these two got to know each other as their families made periodic trips across the Atlantic to visit each other. In 2015, Krista spent quite a bit of time with the Marett family when she was completing her semester abroad in France. Then, in 2023, Grace moved to Canada and the two became like sisters. As our roommate, Grace has seen almost every step of our journey and was the person who was most excited for our engagement.

Hailey is Krista's cousin and has always taken on the role of big sister in her life. Their childhood was spent having sleepovers at each other's houses, going on yearly birthday shopping trips and hanging out at Grandpa and Grandma's. Although they are different in many ways, they have always loved hanging out together and have been known to get the giggles when they are together.

Mikéla is one of Krista's oldest friends. They met in their Grade 2 class and have basically been inseperable ever since. After high school, they attended the Campus St. Jean and both got their teaching degrees. After graduating, they were both hired at the same school and ended up teaching together for 5 years. Since then, the two have enjoyed travelling together and enjoy having coffee dates at different local cafes around the city.

Even though they are not related by blood, Krista and Brittany have always been like cousins. Their moms were childhood friends and the friendship transferred to all of their kids. Over the years, Krista and Brittany have travelled together, danced together, and taken many drives to school together. More recently, they taught together at the same school and Krista was her roommate for almost 5 years.

Despite not knowing Krista for nearly as long as the other bridesmaids, for the last 9 years, Lauren has been a constant in Krista's life. Lauren took Krista on as a student teacher and since then they have become partners in crime. Lauren and Krista share many common interests including a love of travelling, a love of wine & cider, and a love of organisation. They also share a very similar sense of humour which has occasionally gotten them into a bit of trouble.

Known for his questionable taste in romantic partners, Sam and Alan have known each other for over a decade when Sam began dating Alan`s sister. Since then, despite being fierce rivals when it comes to chess, fantasy hockey, fantasy football, stupid debates, board games, video games, and virtually anything esle that can be turned into a competition, they have both become fast friends and family. Sam and Alan can typically be found hanging by campfires until the wee hours or constructing kick-ass cardboard forts when Krista is away.

Back in 1997, to Alan`s horror, second grader Kris turned a simple english exercise into a shameful origin story when he was the only child in the entire class to get the number of syllables in his name wrong (Kri-is). Alan was graciously able to look past the syllable incident and became close friends with Kris. Kris overcame his syllabic challenges to become a scientist, and all round great guy. He is also lightning fast with a dad-joke, a pun, or a horrifyingly weird comment. It's always a fun time when Kris is around!

Andrew and Alan have known each other for nearly thirty years, and it is safe to say, they are very different people. Andrew is combination of German efficiency, responsibility and prudence, while also being a six foot four metal head that is useful to be next to in mosh pits. Despite this, they both share a strange sense of humour, and can converse almost entirely in Simpsons` references. They have been known to spend hours together laughing at their own dumb jokes and talking about just about any topic under the sun.

Adam and Alan have known each other since grade 3, when Adam was that weird kid everyone was kind of afraid of. So of course, they`ve been friends ever since. They grew up inseperable, and once they were adults, instead of drinking like normal 20 year olds (because Adam didn't like the bar scene), they got into the nighttime habbit of scaling as many public buildings in Sherwood Park as they could. Their hobby came to and end when Alan won a contest to see who could sustain the most grevious injury falling from a rooftop, but they remained friends despite this.

Michael is Alan`s younger brother, and former agent of pure chaos. Growing up, Michael and Alan had very different interests, with Michael being the daredevil, and Alan being the nerd. They did share a love of snowboarding and hockey, which meant a lot of the time they shared together was on the slopes or at the rink. Since they were kids, they have always had each others' backs through thick and thin, and have never failed to show up for each other when it mattered most.
