It all started at a bar..... They met at Out-R-Inn after an OSU alumni game. Garry had marched at the game that day and Krista spent the day tailgating with friends. By chance they both ended up at the same bar and the rest is blurry history.

After exchanging numbers and talking for awhile, Krista ventured up to Michigan where Garry was living for the first official date. After many dates trading weekends in Michigan and Ohio, Garry made it official. For the next two years route 23 saw quite a bit of them with them traveling back and forth. They eventually were all done with long distance and Garry moved to Ohio while still working in Michigan. The pandemic wrecked the job market but Garry was finally able to find a job in Columbus.

April 2021 Krista and Garry decided to take a much needed vacation after being cooped up due the pandemic. They decided to go to Miami and spend time at the beach. Krista thought maybe the proposal would happen but after Garry asked her to check his bag, she thought again. Krista is a morning person and wanted to get up early and watch the sunrise. Garry had the idea to get up early and walk to a near-by pier to watch the sun come up and grab breakfast. They got up bright and early to head to the pier. Krista started to have some suspicions when Garry trimmed up his beard. After arriving at the not as close as we thought pier, Garry dropped down on one knee and asked Krista to marry him. Garry even had a secret photographer to capture the moment. They kept their engagment to themselves soaking up the moment until they returned home to share the news.

They are currently (finally) living in the same state. Krista and Garry now call Upper Arlington home and love exploring together. They've turned into those people who go to the farmer's market Saturday mornings and are trying to become regulars at their new favorite brewery, S.I.P. They've recently started exploring the metro parks so if you have a recommendation let them know! They would love to purchase a home eventually but the housing market makes apartment living sound pretty appealing.

Garry is currently working at HFI in Canal Winchester. He is the Corporate Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security Specialist for all of the company's U.S. Operations. He works hard on implementing changes and improvements to make sure everyone goes home the same way they came into work, if not better.

Krista has been a social worker at Nationwide Children's Hospital for the last 4 years where she serves as a home visitor with Help Me Grow. She engages moms and families in learning about healthy child development, and local resources.

These last few years have been quite a ride but we are excited for what's to come.
