Travel Guidance - Going from California to Leon, Guanajuato
Please note, these are just some ideas based on our travel experience to Leon, Guanajuato
 
Option 1: (option that we found to run the smoothest and what we thought to be the easiest & cheapest).
Book a flight to Leon, Gto. from the Tijuana Airport.
Drive down to San Diego and park your car at a car lot. Such as Lion Parking at $12/night. (https://www.parkinglion.com/)
You can show up without a reservation and pay $12/night. So far, we haven't had issues with this.
Or you can reserve to secure your nights with a $20 reservation fee and still $12/night.
Have the Parking Service Drop you off at the Otay Border crossing, they will also pick you up from the border upon return.
Note: There are other similar parking lots that offer this service of securing your vehicle and dropping you off at the border/pick up from border.
Once the parking lot/service drops you off at the border, walk across the border and catch a cab to the Tijuana Airport (about 3-8 minute drive).
Check in to Tijuana Airport and catch your flight to Leon, Guanajuato.
 
Option 2: (option that we found to be easy, no longer the cheapest).
Book a flight to Leon, Gto. from the Tijuana Airport.
Drive down to San Diego and park your car at Cross Border XPress (CBX).
Note: you can also use the parking service in Option 1 to drop you off at CBX for a cheaper parking alternative.

CBX is a bridge that you walk across & that takes you from San Diego straight into the Tijuana airport. You can check into your flight & check your luggage either on the San Diego, CA or Tijuana, Mexico side.
If you use the CBX Bridge, make sure to reserve your parking in advance (anywhere from $17-$40 /night).
Also make sure to pre-purchase your CBS tickets (round trip, approx. $50).
 
Arrive into the Tijuana Airport by walk of walking across the bridge and catch your flight to Leon, Guanajuato.
 
Option 3:
Book a flight from LAX, California to Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.
 
Option 4:
Book a flight from Ontario Airport, California to Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.
