What is the dress code?
Our dress code is black tie optional. This means full-length evening gowns are preferred, but not a must. A midi-length dress is also acceptable. Try to avoid anything above the knee. For men, tuxedos are optional. A dark, structured suit and tie are acceptable. Feel free to wear bright colors or prints. Please avoid lilac as the bridesmaids will be wearing it.
Am I allowed to bring my children?
While we love your little ones, we've chosen to make our special day adults-only so everyone can relax and enjoy.
Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?
We are not allowing additional plus-ones to our wedding, as we'd like to keep the guests list just to those who know us well. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your invitation and no additional guests can be accommodated.
When should I arrive at the church?
We recommend arriving at St. Francis of Assisi at least 30 minutes ahead of the ceremony start time to ensure you have enough time to park and find a seat. The ceremony will start promptly at 4:30pm.
Is there parking at the church and reception venue?
Yes, St. Francis of Assisi has a free parking lot next to the church with plenty of space. St. Charles also has a large and free parking lot. Cars can be left overnight if you are not comfortable driving home at the end of the evening. Bexley police frequently patrol the lot at night.
Where is Walter Commons at St. Charles?
As you enter the main entrance off of Broad Street, turn left into the primary lot and park your car. Walk towards the courtyard on the left side of the building. This is where cocktail hour will take place (see map with red arrows and stars below)
Will there be transportation to and from the hotel?
No, there will not be transportation provided. There is ample parking at both the church and reception venue. Uber and Lyft have plenty of availability in these areas too.
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
We kindly ask that you keep our wedding ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos at the church. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special time. We are happy to share our professional photos and videos of the ceremony. Feel free to take photos and videos at the reception!
What type of food will be served?
We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entree. There will be a meat, fish and vegetarian option available. Please notify us of dietary restrictions when you RSVP so that we can accommodate your needs.
Will there be an open bar?
There will be an open bar for guests to enjoy throughout cocktail hour and the reception.
Will there be other wedding weekend events?
Yes! All of our guests are invited to join us for a welcome party on the evening before our wedding (May 29th) at The Daily Growler in German Village. It may show as closed on Google Maps due to a recent renovation to the main level, but we have the upstairs loft reserved. It will be open house style. Food and drinks will be provided. Please note it is not ADA accessible.
