In the summer of 2009 a girl got a call from a boy she met at college. This boy was working on a cabin in the Beartooths for the summer with his friend. The boys made a plan to come to Cody for a Putt-Putt golf and ice cream double date with the girl and her friend. The rest of the summer was spent camping, climbing, fishing, with campfires, Dairy Queen dates, go-cart riding, drive-in movie theater watching and late night drives up Chief Joseph Highway. The girl saw an adventure in this boy and the adventure has never stopped. 7 years later the boy and this girl will meet at the same cabin where it all began to join their lives together as one.
The ceremony will take place at Tom and Toni Hankins cabin, located off Chief Joseph Highway (296) just up the road from the Painter Outpost.
We realize many of you who are going home that night may need to get down the mountain before dark . We wish to celebrate with you so for that reason, following the ceremony will be a cocktail hour and hor d'oeuvres at the Hankins cabin. For those who plan to stay on the mountain, there will be a dinner reception with dancing later that evening.
With the unique location and nature of our intimate venue, we ask that you please RSVP to the Reception separately than the ceremony and cocktail hour
The dinner reception will start at 7 p.m. and will be held about 1 mile down the road at Hunter Peak Ranch. We plan to dance the night away in the most beautiful country there is. We want our guests to make the most of the weekend with us by exploring the area and fully enjoying the beauty of these magnificent mountains. Cell phone service is limited-making this weekend a chance to get away from crazy busy lives and be renewed by nature, friends, family, and love.
Hunter Peak Ranch is about 60 miles from Cody, WY, so we recommend looking for lodging or camping near Hunter Peak Ranch or in Cooke City to avoid driving down the mountain in the dark.
With the unique location and nature of our intimate venue, we ask that you please RSVP to the Reception separately than the ceremony and cocktail hour.
If anyone is looking for a place to have breakfast Sunday morning, we are planning on going to breakfast at Soda Butte Lodge in Cooke City. Anyone is welcome to show up and have breakfast too! For those of you who plan to drive through Yellowstone National Park on your way home Sunday, this would be on your way as the entrance to Yellowstone is a few short miles from Cooke City.
