We met at the University of Connecticut during our Freshman year orientation, back in 2006. We were both extremely excited to be going to UConn and remained in touch over the summer prior to heading into the school year. It was a sigh of relief to learn we would be living in the same dorm on campus - the infamous Buckley Hall! But they say everything happens for a reason, and it was here we quickly formed a close friendship that eventually lead to the relationship we have today!
During our first two years of college, we continued to have classes together, had similar groups of friends, and would always see one another on the weekends. We continued to remain in touch when Kristin studied abroad in Florence and it was during the start of our Junior year of college that our relationship truly began. We began officially dating on November 21st, 2008. Shortly after, we celebrated our 21st birthdays together, met each other's parents for the first time and showed one another where we grew up! During our nights at nickel night, our days spent in Homer, the exciting times spent at Gampel, and everything in between, we quickly realized how much we truly cared for each other and were falling in love.
Our relationship continued to grow in the years we had at UConn together. But it was once we graduated and Greg decided to take a job at Sentinel Benefits, outside of Boston to be closer to Kristin that our relationship really matured. We both rented apartments close by in the city and continued to make so many memories in Boston. We made the next big step in our relationship to move in together in South Boston in the Fall of 2013. Living with one another has not only emphasized our love but how we truly could not live without one another. The best part of our days are coming home to see one another!
On September 5, 2015, we went to enjoy the beautiful sunset at the Inn at Castle Hill in Newport. It was there that Greg pulled me aside, caught me by surprise, got down on one knee, and asked me ever so sweetly to marry him and I obviously said "yes"! We could not be happier and are so excited for all that the future holds for us.
We could not imagine getting married anywhere but Newport and we are so excited to share our love for this charming island with our family and friends!
