Is it safe in Mexico?

Safe enough to have our wedding there! Yes, just use your common sense. It is advised to never walk alone, and at night catch an Uber (or “Didi”) to and from locations instead of walking.

Can I drink the water?

We advise against drinking any tap water-including brushing teeth with it! Buy and use bottled water, ask in restaurants. Limit your ice, unless it is filtered.

How many dollars is that?

I downloaded a money converter on my phone for easier math. As of writing this 1 dollar was about 20 pesos.

How do I get there if I don't have wifi/map?

Download the app: maps.me. Upload/download the Guadalajara map prior to your flight here, this map can be used even off wifi once downloaded

Taxi's can be found in the airport and range around 200-300 pesos to the city center (around $20 US) -Jose and his brother may be available for pick ups-call us ahead and we can attempt to pick you up! -Uber! (use Starbucks wifi in airport to get Uber to your hotel) -Rental Car -Discovery Mundo offers shuttles to your doorstep-you must reserve ahead of time

What about COVID and testing??

At the time of writing this-no testing is required to enter Mexico. However the United States require a rapid test or antigen test or proof of recovery from COVID via a doctor -so arrange your travels accordingly. You will need a test/etc within 72 hours of your departure from Mexico. Please continue to check the US/Mexico embassy site for updates: https://mx.usembassy.gov/

Where are people meeting for the shuttles to different events/etc?

PLEASE, send Kristin or Jose a text when RSVP-ing or anytime before your flight to Mexico. We will add you to a Whatsapp group message for shuttles, wedding questions, information, etc! If possible download the Whatsapp application on your smartphone (perhaps one person in your party or family/friends) and we will add you prior to the week of the wedding for quick/in-country replies and updates of wedding events. This will also be an easy way for guests to contact each other as well
