Brian and Kristin have been together since 2016. They moved in together in fall 2021 and got engaged December 2023.
They are very excited to celebrate their special day with you!
Read below to learn more about their love story together.
Like any modern romance, Brian and Kristin met online on Match.com. One of Kristin's profile pics was a photo of herself bowling a 300 game (which she did not actually do- it was her birthday and the bowling alley owner "adjusted" her score). Brian, an avid bowler at the time, was of course curious and they started chatting.
After a few exchanges and an unforeseen Match.com "technical glitch" that got Kristin a full refund for her account, Brian and Kristin moved their conversation offline and met in person.
Their first date was on March 26th, 2016. They met at Melt in Independence, which was about halfway between their two houses. The date went great. They sat at the bar and shared a couple giant Melt sandwiches. Brian made Kristin laugh, and even offered to pick up the bill- like a real gentleman.
A second date was planned before the end of the first one, and they both headed home. Brian, however, found himself back at Melt later that afternoon as he accidentally forgot his credit card at the bar and didn't realize it until he got home! Thankfully, the date went well and he wasn't too far away. ;)
Brian and Kristin were engaged on December 15th, 2023. The couple had originally planned a date night that night, where Brian was going to pop the question. Unfortunately though, Kristin had woken up that morning with a terrible migraine and had to stay home from work. This of course threw a wrench in Brian's plans and he had to pivot and quickly (and secretively!) come up with a plan B.
While Kristin slept off the migraine, Brian worked to think of an alternative plan, since it was likely the date night was going to be cancelled. He remembered that the previous Christmas Kristin had bought them matching pajamas and the idea struck him- a surprise Christmas photo shoot! As Kristin recovered in the afternoon, Brian snuck out and bought a tripod to make the shoot official.
Brian told Kristin that they were going to stay in and she just needed to get showered and dressed. When Kristin got out of the shower, Brian was wearing his Christmas jammies and the tripod was set up facing the wreath. Kristin knew what this meant, and she was elated to finally have photos together in their matching pajamas! (up to this point, Kristin was the only one of them who had ever actually wore them) ;)
After a few rounds of photos, a few failed attempts to include Gus in the pictures, and a change of backdrop in front of the tree, Brian pulled out the ring he had tucked in the waistband and asked Kristin to marry him. Completely surprised (she really would've been happy with just the Christmas photo shoot!), Kristin teared up and of course said YES!
They celebrated with champagne before sharing the great news with friends and family!
Now we're looking ahead to the wedding :) That's a good reminder to RSVP as soon as you're able. Maybe do it now while you're on the website? What's stopping you? Everybody's doing it....
