Our Love Story

Samuel and I were introduced a couple of years back by a mutual friend. Things didn’t quite work out on our first date, due to baggage and prejudging one another. I thought he was stuck up and Sam thought I had an attitude ( but he wasn’t telling me, what I wanted to here). As years passed, we linked backed up, due to a popular game that was going on at the time, called the SuSu. The same mutual friend that introduced us, asked me to reach out to Sam, when I tried to get her to join in on this game. She stated he would participate, so I reached out and this is what started our journey. He didn’t join under me, but we started talking back and forth, and soon got asked to go out on another date (this time he came correct..lol). When I say, my MAN moved everyone, who was trying to date me out of the way, he did that. His actions showed up and and showed out on every level. As many of you might know, my work schedule is really tight. So, any free time I had, he made it his business to see little ol’ me. Not to mention he was traveling from out of town ( at the time-9 hours and 32 minutes) and still traveling, to this day. On our second date, we meet up at Long Horn and spent the rest of the evening downtown at The Lower Lounge. During conversation of getting to know one another, he asked, “what do I like to do in my spare time?”. I replied back by saying, “I like to travel” and why did I say that. Sam then asked, “where do you want to go right now?”, thinking he was just joking. To my surprise, he wasn’t. It was super late, so we end up choosing Panama City Beach, Fl that was kinda close. I was like wait, I’m in need of clothing, but was still in disbelief, I was about to pack up and go out of town with this man. I noooo very spontaneous. I drove home and packed, called my sister and my girls, letting them know where I was going and who I was with. I don’t know what it was, but I felt so comfortable and relaxed enough to fall asleep on this ride to Florida. Sam booked us a room at the Bluegreen’s Bayside Resort and yes it had two beds…LOL. During the same night, Sam was informed that his best friend passed away. I’m so glad I was there by his side, during this time to console him. Even though he was hit with this bad news, he tried not to show his emotions. I can tell he was hurting, but he still tried to make this trip a memorable one. The next day, I tried to cheer him up with conversation and we enjoyed a little pool time. Let’s just say, Sam became a swim instructor and he got a kick out of me coughing up the water. Well, the rest is history. He’s still traveling and I’m still drowning in LOVE💍👰🏽♀️
