Kyle and I have been going to school together since fourth grade. We knew of one another but didn’t hang out with the same crowd. Years later we reconnected through Facebook. At this time we were both in the police academy and would frequently ask each other cop related questions. Kyle then asked me to go to dinner. He had actually asked me to go to dinner quite a few times prior to this. Since I was dating someone at the time I always said no. I thought it was so strange that he would continue to ask but he had no shame in his game.
When the time was right I finally said yes to dinner. For our first date Kyle took me to the Cheesecake Factory. He even came all the way to my house and picked me up. I will never forget the perfect gentleman he was opening the door for me. To this day I am still not allowed to touch the door handle.
Dinner was delicious and perfect in every way. Kyle drove me back home and I invited him inside for the final test.. to meet Hank. For those of you that don’t know Hank is my dog and my baby. Hank is a PitBull and unfortunately most people are scared of him. Kyle came inside and wasn’t scared of him one bit. They immediately became best buds. I still believe Hank loves him more than me. After that night, I knew I would marry him.
During the first part of our relationship we went back and forth between houses. As time went on we realized how silly that was. In 2021 I sold my house and moved in with Kyle. Once we were settled in we realized we wanted another dog. One day at work I saw an add for silver lab puppies on Facebook. It didn’t take much convincing when I told Kyle that they were champion bred duck hunters. A few days later, Duke was brought home.
At the end of 2022 Kyle proposed. He took me to my favorite restaurant, Tony’s. I had an idea that something was up because he had been very anxious all day. Dinner was amazing per usual. They really have the best food. When we started walking towards the gazebo on Main Street was when I knew it was happening. Kyle asked me to marry him and I said yes. From there a crowd of people started cheering. It was then I realized all of our family and friends were there with us.
We are so excited and cannot wait to spend our wedding day with all of you!
