Back when it all started, first date of many. We ended up meeting halfway at a little restaurant and spent hours getting to know each other. We talked about all kinds of nerdy things, such as anime. Neither of us wanted the date to end so we traveled to Drago's Castle, where we successfully defeated the dragon! Fun Fact: Kara has a guilty pleasure for sports anime, while Kyle loves his isekai trash.

Kyle has always had a fondness for snowboarding. After learning that it is on Kara's bucket list, we immediately planned a date on the slopes. Between learning how to stand and the yeti's snowball attacks it was a wonderful date. Fun Fact: Yetis will only throw snowballs when Kara isn't looking.

The more we got to know each other the more, we realized our interests aligned. Starting to get more serious, Kyle invited Kara along with him to PAX. There we enjoyed all the gamer booths at the multiday convention and explored the Boston area. Fun Fact: Kara took pictures posing with every statue in and around Boston that she came across, including a horse poster that said Kyle.

Halloween Kara's favorite time of the year. We tried our hand at making some homemade couple costumes. This was the first of many fun attempts from Vikings and Knights to Witches and Spiders. Fun fact: In the present Kara has a one-sided vendetta with, the Christmas obsessed, neighbors across the street. How dare they put up Santa on Halloween night!!

Big step in the adult world, Kyle became a first time home buyer! Moving in together, there was lots of work to be done. By far one of our favorite home improvements was our living room remodel and getting rid of that awful mirror wall. Fun Fact: Not wanting over 9000 years of bad luck, we attempted to sell the mirrors rather than throw them away. Three years later Kyle finally managed to get rid of the last one. However, we still have two 6 foot mirrors, if anyone is interested.

A date night staple is making delicious food together. Some of our favorites meals has been beef wellington, cordon bleu, butterflied lobster tail, and roasted quail. Fun Fact: Kyle thinks the way Kara cooks hamburgers is blasphemous. Who the heck bakes them in an oven.

We each brought our own pets into the relationship. Kyle had his cat Arya and Kara had Koop the turtle. With a new house and the extra space we decided to rescue a pupper. That's when Mocha joined our family. Fun Fact: We got a DNA kit for Mocha she is 77% husky mix 10% swiss shepherd, and 13% pain in the ass.

Being the foodies that we are, we go to all kinds of food events in our area. Here at Brew at the Zoo, we enjoy drinks while hanging out with animals and supporting the local zoo. Food Truck Battles is another favorite event of ours, where we try foods samples from lots of trucks. Fun Fact: We discovered one of our favorite ciders at Brew at the Zoo, Downeast.

Home improvement still continues. Projects including but not limited to; redoing bedroom, adding raised garden beds to back yard, moving washroom, replacing the fence, and tearing down an old shed. It has been a great adventure together making a house that's ours. Fun Fact: Since purchasing this house every single appliance (with the exception of the central air system) has needed to be replaced.

To keep the love going strong we find fun date night things to do. In this case a stargazing show featuring ancient love stories...with free chocolate at the MOST. Fun Fact: Zeus is not the Greek god with the most children it's actually Poseidon.

Six months earlier: Kyle brought up the topic of marriage, since Kara has always wanted to get married on Leap Day. He mentions that 6 months feels too soon, but he doesn't want to want another 4 years. *hold for awws* It was then decided that getting engaged on Leap Day could be just as awesome. Back to February 29: Right on the heels of a snowstorm and freezing cold weather, Kyle "surprised" Kara with a date out on the town to different restaurants, trying mini samples at each. With the frost biting winds around us, we went for a walk by the lake, there Kyle got down on one knee, in the foot deep snow. Kara politely de...manded we rush back home to warm up...after saying yes. Fun Fact: Half the places we tried to visit that day were closed, due to inclement weather.

Coming full circle, here is us again at PAX 4 years later. Over the years we have bonded over all kinds of fun games. Some of our favorites has been World of Warcraft, Wingspan board game, creating DnD worlds/characters, Viking adventures in Valheim, Beat Saber and Ragnarock dance battles, endless Vampire Survivors, escaping the underworld of Hades, intense Smash Up card competitions, and so much more!! Fun Fact: Kyle's most played game is World of Warcraft with 8,000+ hrs, and Kara's is Guild Wars 2 with 5100+ hrs.

As all good couples do, we support each other and encourage one another. This year we are trying something fun and made a 2025 Bingo Goal List! Today both of us were able to cross off items, Kyle just wanted to snowboard more and Kara finally rode the Ski Lift. Fun Fact: Our Free space is the Wedding!!

While it might be listed last in our timeline it is hardly the end. This day will mark the first day of the rest of our lives. Fun Fact: This will be the best day ever!
