Kyra and Bennett met at swim meet in 2016, when Kyra was in the 8th grade and Bennett a freshman in high school. As the years passed, they became close friends.

They swam together for five years, eventually captaining the team together. During high school, they shared one class for three years, Journalism, where they helped publish the school's Nicolas Cage revering paper, The Verve Newspaper. During Bennett's senior year, Bennett was Editor-and-Chief and Kyra led as Production's Manager. They traveled together to Dual Enrollment and to conferences at u(sic)GA. They planned school retreats and dances. They also played Mario Cart, Sardines, and Bean, swung from rope swings into lakes, made mocktails behind a bar, blinked in every photo, went together to his Junior Prom, and ate ice cream from State Championship trophies.

During the middle of April 2019 in Bennett's last semester of high school, they finally talked about dating. Bennett asked Kyra out on March 21st. Then, after a busy few months of dating, Bennett left for college.

Georgia Tech was less than an hour away, but they were in two different worlds. Kyra was enjoying and finishing her senior year strong, and Bennett was adjusting to college and pledging a fraternity.

Then, Kyra committed to Georgia Tech, and they were sharing their lives again—though they never shared another class. They traveled the Southeast to fraternity formals, on ski trips, and to visit family and friends across state lines. Together they played Broomball, watched Tech defeat Duke in basketball, carved pumpkins, and dressed up as Shark Boy and Lava girl. They made friends and watched them get married. They sought out communities of faith and joined a church.

The summer after Bennett graduated, they traveled through Europe, visiting nine countries. Bennett planned their routes, accommodations, activities, all throughout his senior year. A ring, he said, was just too much to manage.

When Kyra stepped off the trolley at Mont Saint Michel, on the coast of Normandy, France, Kyra told him that he should've bought a ring and proposed here. When she saw the photographer waiting for them that night, she knew he had. He asked her to marry him just before sunset by a 1,000 year-old cathedral built upon a great rock amid the world's strongest tides. She, of course, said "yes."

Now they are waiting to celebrate with you, who have been their friends, their encouragers, the girls who just KNEW he was going to propose in Europe. You have prayed for them, loved them, taught them, laughed with them, and helped them plot their course together through life.
