Henry and Kyra met while studying for their undergraduate degrees at UCLA in 2014. During their time at UCLA, they enjoyed studying together, going hiking every weekend and exploring restaurants all over the city of Los Angeles.
After finishing their undergraduate degrees, Henry attended a masters program in San Luis Obispo. Kyra visited Henry in San Luis Obispo, and the two fell in love with both the city of San Luis and the central coast of California.
After completing his second degree, the two began to build their careers in separate cities, 6 hours apart; San Francisco and Los Angeles. Because of the distance, they went their separate ways, but they could never forget about one another.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Kyra moved to northern California to be with her family (just 2 hours away from Henry), and they reconnected. Every weekend, Henry and Kyra met in the middle - Napa Valley - to go hiking or wine tasting. They enjoyed spending time together even more than they had before.
Together, they traveled across the whole state of California. They went backpacking in the Yosemite wilderness, sightseeing in San Francisco, and they visited San Luis Obispo often. After some time, the two decided to move to San Luis Obispo together and live in the area they had come to love.
Kyra and Henry added a large, rambunctious red puppy named Brady to their family. Brady has brought so much joy and love (and destruction!) into their home, but the two wouldn't trade him for the world.
Henry and Kyra settled into their life together as puppy parents and partners. Through much urging from Henry, Kyra decided to pursue a masters degree. While Kyra was studying for her classes, Henry was planning something special...
He secretly organized a trip to Napa where he planned to propose! Because he and Kyra had reconnected in Napa, it seemed fitting to start this next phase of their journey in the place where it began.
Kyra said YES!
A few weeks after their engagement, on their original anniversary, Henry and Kyra eloped! They chose to be married on the cliffs of Pismo Beach in the smallest of ceremonies officiated and photographed by their close friends.
Due to COVID travel restrictions, they were unable to include their families in their 2021 wedding. They have been waiting for the right time to bring their families and friends together to celebrate their union, and that time has FINALLY arrived!
