Our Wedding

Ben and Lacy met in college clear back in 2012! Ben was in the Fraternity, Sigma Nu, and Lacy was in Pi Beta Phi, which was the Sorority house across the street. The two houses had a strong reputation for having fun and naturally, everyone in the two houses got along well together. It was Greek week, which means Fraternity houses and Sorority houses were paired together for a series of friendly competitions on Greek Row. Luckily, Sigma Nu and Pi Phi got paired together that year. Lacy needed a date for her upcoming Sorority formal and our mutual friend Erin O'Brien thought Ben would be the perfect date! The first time Ben and Lacy ever met, we practiced a choreographed couples dance together in the basement of Sigma Nu for an event called "Songfest." Since we barely knew each other, we stumbled through the performance in the best way we could but didn't really talk much. That weekend, came Lacy's sorority formal. We pregamed at Sigma Nu, hit the bus and danced and partied the night away with our friends, thinking it would be a one-time thing. We ended up hanging out after at Sigma Nu and actually hitting it off, and slowly started to talk over the next couple weeks. After that, Ben was convinced Lacy needed to be his date to Sigma Nu's end of semester Lake Powell trip in May. We quickly fell for each other and the rest is history. So why wait this long to get married??? For the first few years of their relationship, Ben was still in school and Lacy was focused on getting ahead in her career. We were in different life stages and wanted to get to a place where we could more unified. In our mid-20's, Lacy's career started to kick off and Ben finished school. For the first time, we could afford to travel to new places and became obsessed with the concert and music festival scene. We had an amazing friend group and were just having fun living our lives and having experiences we'd probably never have a chance to again. We also shared a strong passion for University of Utah athletics and have been avid fans of football, basketball, etc. the entire time we've been dating. We take any chance we can get to go to a game together. We also picked up golfing as a shared hobby and frequently make tee times for a weekend round of nine or eighteen holes. In 2020, COVID hit and we were quarantined together...

Once we had Henry, the three of us became an official family. Ever since the day we brought him home, we've been absolutely obsessed with him. Between daily walks, monthly Bark Box and Ben constantly bringing Henry home a new toy, this dog is spoiled! Getting Henry is our most favorite thing we've ever done together in 12 years. Once we got past the COVID years, Lacy was fortunate to get the amazing job she has now at Prime Corporate Services and finally felt that she was in the place she had been working so hard to get to in her career. Ben has had continued success at his job at Wolfnest and had also been working Reggae Riseup Festivals on the side, which he loves. We celebrated our 10-year anniversary and 30th birthday celebration together with all of our closest friends in Mexico in January of 2022. At that point, we both felt we were ready to take the next step but we didn't talk about it... at all! That's why several months later, when Ben proposed in September of 2022 at Life is Beautiful music festival in Vegas, Lacy was completely shocked!!! :) We are so lucky to have found each other and spent these last amazing 12 years together. We are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives!

Mandy is my beautiful big sister! We are extremely close and hang out often with her little ones Capone and Theo. Mandy is the master behind all of my wild hair colors and the most artistic, creative and sweetest person I know! Obviously, she's known me longer than anyone and I've always gone to her for advice, help or just cheering up when I'm feeling down. She has been such an important influence on me growing up.

Drew is my best friend and has been since we met in high school. After spending much of our free time in high school together I convinced Drew to take a leap of faith and move with me to Salt Lake City to attend University of Utah. I would argue that was one of the best decisions I have ever made as it undoubtedly led me directly to Lacy. From snow boarding and Giants games and every adventure in between, me and Drew have always had each other’s backs

Drew Hinkson

Meri and I have been best friends since 1st grade, even though we've lived in two different states since 5th grade! We met in Girl Scouts when our moms became troop leaders together. We spent our childhood together playing Barbies, American Girl doll, dressing up, having triple sleepovers and hiding in closets whenever it was time to go home. Conveniently enough, Meri lives right by Ben's parents in California so we get to see her often and always make efforts to visit each other. 

Merideth Dwyer 

Conor is one of my oldest friends. We met in freshman PE class where we made quick friends. We played high school football together as well as wrestling. We spent countless weekends at Conor's parents beautiful house causing them what I imagine was a giant pain in their ass. But Barbra and Gary were two of the nicest parents and they put up with us. Conor now lives in San Diego with his two dogs Georgia and Herbert. 

Conor Cappa 

Claire is Ben's older sister. We became close when she lived in Salt Lake City for a couple years and hit the music festival scene hard together! We spent many Sunday brunches together, late nights out at shows and lots of giggly game nights at home. Claire is a badass in her career and truly an inspiration to me! 

Claire Kapp 

Nerk was first my fraternity brother but over the years he has become a true friend. We worked together at Wolfnest for a few years before he left to start his own multimedia company, Open Shutter Media, where we are coworkers once again. Nerk and his Wife Amy have a beautiful 15-month old son named Oliver.

Nicholas Wassner

Jenna and I met in Catholic middle school and were cheerleaders together. We drifted apart in high school then reconnected in college when she lived with me in Utah in the summer, while home from college in L.A. Jenna's hands down one of the smartest and most hilarious people I know! You can catch her for a beer when she's not skiing, mountain biking, hiking, surfing or doing some other crazy athletic adventure.

Tyson and I became friends when we started playing kickball with Beehive Sports. He quickly became friends with all of my friends and was soon a very close friend of mine. We share a love of the music industry and through my connections at Reggae Rise Up he quickly became a very vital member of that team as well. An unwavering Utes fan, you can catch us at any Utah sporting event!

Tyson Hatcher 

I was fortunate to meet Ky a couple years after college through mutual friends. We quickly connected through our shared love of music, food, animals and being independent women! We've spent the last 6 years together doing everything from music festivals, game nights, late night shows, brunches, ladies nights and cozy days on the couch together. She lives in Salt Lake City near me and we hang often with our fur babies.

Kylie Sandoval 

Eric also entered the friend group in the early kickball era. We share a love for live music and went to easily 100+ shows together over the years. From Soundwell to ATL, wherever the music took us, we were sure to be there. Eric is a huge College Football fan and we have always shared that love as well. 

Eric Petrone

Mere and I actually met through Claire (Ben's sister) while the two of them worked at a hotel in Salt Lake City about 7 years ago. We went to a music festival the first time we ever met and immediately fell in love. We also quickly bonded over our passion for working out and started going to a boxing and cycling studio called Rebel House. After a couple years, we ended up training to be instructors together. Now, we see each other almost every day at Rebel and bond on the weekends over brunch, concerts, our shared love of Griz (DJ) and snuggles with Henry (mine and Ben's dog). 

Meredith Dalenburg 

Sean is one of my oldest friends from Salt Lake City. He was in the pledge class just one semester after mine in our Fraternity. We immediately became friends as we shared many hobbies and interests, from fishing and sport shooting, to dogs and cold beer. You can find me and Sean around the grill or at a campsite, often both.

Kylie is my brother's daughter and sweet little niece. We've spent a lot of time together as she's grown up and she's so precious to me. She loves Barbies and squishmallows but will also take on any boy at the playground and is a beast in roller blades!

Pugel is a very close friend of Lacy and I. He was also in my Fraternity and was in the pledge class after Sean, creating a friendship that would last many years. Pugel has known Lacy and I as long as we've been together. Pugel has Captained Lacy and I’s kickball team for many years and has accompanied us on many awesome trips over the years. A well spoken and natural comedian, Pugel will have the honor of Officiant.

From Salt Lake City, it's about a 90-minute flight. From Northern California, it's about an hour-long flight. You will need to rent a car in Reno, Nevada or find transportation to South Lake Tahoe from there. It's about an hour-long drive from Reno to South Lake Tahoe. For driving directions from Reno to South Lake Tahoe, we recommend taking I-580 S and Hwy 50. The drive is about 60 miles.
