Our Story

As we all know, there are two sides to every story. This is ours.

If you ask Jonathan...

Laine and I have one of the most romantic ways that people can meet these days. Through social media… We met for the first time at Sonic and we hit it off immediately. We continued to talk for a few months and in February of 2019, I asked her to be my girlfriend. Easiest yes of her life so far.

Through the past years I have learned that Laine is the most adventurous, caring, compassionate, and selfless person. Those are just a few things that I have came to love about Laine, but there is so much more.

Laine and I have travelled to many States and National Parks, been on lots of hikes, and even bought a home together. Of all the things we’ve experienced together, my favorite thing to do with her has been walking around our property looking at all of the flowers that have grown. She loves them so much, so that makes me love them a lot.

Now, if you know me, I’m not one to brag… too much. But I can confidently say that I WILL be bragging to everyone that I got to marry my absolute best friend and love of my life. I look forward to telling that same story to friends, family, and everyone who cares to hear. I’m looking forward to exploring the world and creating more memories that we’ll both never forget.

Laine and I got engaged in December of 2023. I planned a photo shoot for us and popped the question then, much to her surprise. The new easiest yes of her life. We were outside and surrounded by nature, just how we both love to be.

If you ask Laine...

While I was in my senior year of high school and Jonathan was newly graduated and working, we first connected over social media through what I begrudgingly admit was a “TBH?” post. “Tbh idk you but you seem funny and I’m always looking to make new friends!” is what Jonathan wrote. Little did we both know that we would find a friendship in each other unlike any other.

I found it incredibly easy to talk to Jonathan, and I found myself almost always smiling and laughing over his witty humor and unwavering support. In May 2021, we took our first solo trip together to the state of Utah to explore the Mighty Five National Parks. We fell in love with the red rock, hoodoos, arches, and canyons, and at the time, we even joked about coming back to the location one day to marry.

Jonathan proposed to me on December 11, 2023, during a photo session in the foothills of western North Carolina. To my knowledge, we had a “Christmas photo shoot” planned, but to my complete surprise, Jonathan had a proposal photo shoot planned. At this time, we had known and been together for almost 5 years, and we both knew our future was together. However, that didn't change the fact that turning around to see Jonathan down on one knee and holding out a ring gave me a feeling of joy, love, excitement, and a flood of emotions I could never put into words.

Remembering back on the beautiful sites and the awe we felt together in Utah, we decided to return to the state to get married. We both look forward to our big day, but even more so, I look forward to navigating through life with Jonathan by my side. Our wedding trip will kick off the first of many big adventures as a married couple, and I have confidence that we will continue to explore this world together throughout our future.

With one of my major love languages being quality time, I find serenity, contentment, and excitement in creating shared experiences with the people I love. For this reason, I am not only beyond ecstatic to marry the love of my life with our families by our side but also ecstatic to have our families together, sharing experiences and building everlasting memories. I am immeasurablely grateful for you all, and I can’t wait to see you there!
