Reception

Dear Family & Friends,We are so excited to celebrate with you in Tulum!!Long before we met, Lara had dreamed of one day bringing all of her favorite people together somewhere special, somewhere beautiful like Mexico, for a celebration that felt as much about the experience together as the wedding itself. And for Alex, who was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico will always be home. His family, his roots, and so much of who he is are here.As we built our life together, Mexico naturally became part of our shared story too. So when it came time to choose where we would get married, celebrating here felt especially meaningful. There are so many beautiful places throughout Mexico that we could have chosen, but we kept coming back to Tulum. The beaches have always been some of Alex's favorite in the world, and the ocean brought something we both wanted for this weekend: a place where everyone we love could come together, slow down, celebrate, and truly enjoy being away together. Now, this place that already holds so much meaning for us will forever hold one of the most important moments of our lives. We hope that after a few unforgettable days together, it becomes an extra special place for you, too.We can't wait to have you with us by the sea. With love,Lara & Alex

Our Wedding

It all started with karaoke. In January 2023, mutual friends who knew we were both single decided we should meet and invited Lara to Alexs birthday celebration at a karaoke bar in New York City. Neither of us knew it then, but many of the friends in that room would go on to become an important part of our life together. A few weeks later came our first date at Mezcali, over margaritas. At one point, Lara invited Alex to sit beside her in the booth, providing what she thought was a fairly obvious opportunity for a first kiss. Alex, ever the gentleman, did absolutely nothing. His plan, unbeknownst to Lara, was to take her dancing afterward and kiss her once theyd danced off a few margaritas. When Lara decided dancing on a Thursday night wasnt happening, they said goodbye instead. Lara went home convinced shed been friend-zoned. Thankfully, Alex had a very different interpretation of the evening. He soon planned their first proper dinner date at an omakase restaurant in Tribeca. After dinner, they climbed into a yellow cab, and Alex turned to Lara and said, “Theres something I should have done last time.” And finally, he kissed her. From there, things moved quickly, not because we were rushing, but because it felt remarkably clear. By summer, we were meeting each others families and becoming part of each others circles of friends. And that September, less than a year after a karaoke bar brought us together, we moved into our first apartment in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens. Three years later, its still home. Long Island City has become much more than the place where we live. Its where weve built our little New York family, surrounded by some of our closest friends, many only a few blocks away. Our life together is filled with spontaneous dinners, birthdays, barbecues, board games, cocktails, travel, and pretty much any excuse to bring the people we love around the same table. Its also where LarAlex was born, a nickname given to us by our close-knit group of friends that, somewhere along the way, simply became us. Our life together has stretched far beyond New York, too. Mexico is Alexs home, where his family and roots are, and it has naturally become an important part of the life were building together, embraced by Lara through family, food, travel, culture and quite a few Spanish lessons. Then, in August 2025, came Wisconsin. During a summer weekend Lara had planned with some of our closest friends, Alex somehow managed to out-plan the planner. Back at the house one evening, surrounded by friends, Alex shared some of the things hed come to know and love about Lara before telling her, in Spanish, that he couldnt imagine his life without her. Then he got down on one knee. After the shock, tears, cheering and a very surprised yes, Alex revealed one more secret: Laras family and closest friends had been hiding downstairs, waiting to celebrate with us. What began as a weekend Lara planned to bring together people she loved...became an engagement celebration surrounded by them. And maybe thats the thread through all of it. From the karaoke bar where we met, to our home in Long Island City, to family in Wisconsin and Mexico City, our happiest memories seem to happen when the people we love are together. So when it came time to imagine our wedding, we knew we wanted to do exactly that, only on a slightly bigger scale. Our families and friends are spread across New York, Wisconsin, Mexico and beyond, so almost anywhere we chose would be a destination for someone. We decided to choose a place that felt meaningful to us. And we found it in a magical part of Tulum called Casa Malca. With its incredible art, unexpected design, beautiful spaces and the ocean just steps away, we could immediately picture our families and friends there: eating, drinking, dancing, relaxing by the water and making memories together. Now we get to bring all of those worlds into one place. New York to Wisconsin to Mexico, margaritas to martinis to carajillos, and one missed first kiss that thankfully wasnt missed for long. We cant wait for the next chapter, and were so happy youll be part of it. Love, LarAlex

Getting to Tulum

Casa Malca is located along Tulum’s beautiful beach road in the Zona Hotelera, at:Casa MalcaKm 9.5 Carretera Tulum–Boca PailaTulum, Quintana Roo 77780, MexicoThere are two airports you can fly into for the wedding weekend:Tulum International Airport (TQO)Our recommended airport.Tulum International Airport is the closest airport to Casa Malca and will be the most convenient option for guests when flight schedules and pricing allow (~40-55 minutes from Casa Malca).Cancún International Airport (CUN)Cancún offers the largest selection of nonstop and international flights and is approximately 1.5–2 hours from Casa Malca, depending on traffic. If Cancún offers the best itinerary from your city, don’t worry — we’ve arranged transportation coordination to make getting to Tulum easy.

Airport Transportation

We’ve partnered with 5 Senses Transportation to coordinate private transportation for our guests between both Tulum International Airport (TQO) and Cancún International Airport (CUN) and Casa Malca.Rather than having everyone arrange transportation individually, their team will collect guest flight information and coordinate arrivals with the goal of grouping guests landing around similar times whenever possible.Their team will:- Coordinate transportation based on your flight itinerary- Group guests arriving around similar times when possible- Send your personalized transportation details directly to you- Meet you at the airport with a personalized Lara & Alex wedding sign- Monitor flights and adjust for delays- Provide direct assistance via WhatsApp, email or text throughout your travel dayOnce your flights are booked, please submit your travel information here:SUBMIT TRANSPORTATION FORM HERE to book 5 Senses will take it from there and contact you directly with your transportation details. For guests arriving around the same time, transportation may be shared to make the trip both easier and more cost-effective.

A Note on Rental Cars

Unless you’re planning to explore beyond Tulum before or after the wedding weekend, we don’t recommend renting a car.Our wedding celebrations will take place at Casa Malca, and we’ve arranged airport transportation coordination so you can arrive, settle in, and enjoy the weekend without worrying about driving or parking. If you’re extending your trip elsewhere in the Yucatán, however, a rental car may make sense for that portion of your travels.

Make a Trip of It

If your schedule allows, we highly recommend giving yourself a little extra time in Mexico.Come early for a few days of sunshine, stay after the wedding to explore, or simply settle into Casa Malca and enjoy the beach before the celebrations begin. We’ll be sharing more of our favorite Tulum recommendations as we get closer to the weekend (in the "Things To Do" tab).Until then, book your room, book your flight, pack something fabulous — and we’ll meet you in paradise.See you in Tulum. 🤍
