Jacob and Laura traveled back to Ohio for another visit. They arrived late Saturday night and Jacob, who usually goes to bed early, stayed up late and kept trying to get Laura out of the room. Laura thought it odd, but didn't expect anything too much out of the ordinary. Sunday morning, Laura walked into the living room to a conversation between Jacob and her dad that seemed to be about her, but again she didn't think much of it. That day Laura was trying to make plans with her childhood best friend, Aubrey, who seemed remarkably reluctant to commit to a specific time. Meanwhile, Jacob's only request for the day was to take a walk down by the lake. As they prepared to take the walk, she noticed that Jacob was carrying both a water bottle and backpack which would have been odd for a normal walk, but still did not arouse her suspicions. Laura started to leash both her and her dad's dogs and was surprised when Jacob questioned why they were taking her dad's dog, Bella. As they reached the point by the lake Jacob stopped and expressed a desire to take a break. Again, this was odd as they regularly hike for many miles and they had gone less than one, but she proceeded to sit down in the grass with the dogs to take pictures with them (typical). After only a few minutes of sitting, Jacob abruptly declared that it was time to get moving again, so Laura reluctantly agreed (she had just gotten comfortable!). She got up and turned around to see Aubrey hiding behind a tree with a camera. (remember how she wouldn't nail down a time?) Laura turned back around to see Jacob on one knee. She was so excited about it that she doesn't actually remember the question being asked, much to Jacob's chagrin at how long he spent working on those words. Remember that odd backpack? It had glasses and Laura's favorite wine.
