Q + A

How is the climate in Stanley?

Due to the elevation, Stanley, Idaho is one of the coolest cities in America year round. We'd recommend packing clothes that will keep you warm and bringing jackets and sweaters with the ability to layer if need be.

What should we wear to the ceremony and reception?

Currently the plan is for the ceremony to be hosted within the chapel overlooking the Sawtooth mountain range. Dress your Sunday best to formal. Dinner is to follow indoor at the Redfish Lake Lodge. Finally, dancing, cake, and champagne will be served at Triangle C Lodge during the night hours. We'd recommend women wear longer dresses, pantyhose, and a dress jacket. And perhaps pack a pair of gloves and a hat for the the night time outdoor dancing in case it is frigid! For men a suit or tux with the ability to layer is ideal. If you'd like to change into a more casual outfit for dancing please feel free! We'll have ample room within the lodge to house outfit changes for anyone interested.

What is the average temperature this time of year?

The average low is 29 F at night, the average daily high is 69F. Bring layers just in case!

Will there be an open bar?

We will not provide an open bar; however, we will provide champagne for a toast! If you'd like something special to drink for the event, please bring it along to enjoy!

Are there places to eat nearby?

Yes! While Stanley is a smaller town there are a handful of restaurants right around the corner that you may sample during your stay. Stanley Baking Co., Papa Brunee's, Sawtooth Luce's, Stanley Supper Club, Mountain Village Resort, and Redfish Lake Lodge are a few options.

What time and date is the rehearsal dinner?

The rehearsal dinner will be immediately following our rehearsal. Rehearsal is 6-7pm. Dinner will follow at 7:15pm. Both events occur on Friday, September 20th. Those invited to the rehearsal & dinner should have received an online invite when they completed their RSVP.

Are there any fun activities to do the day after the wedding?

Yes! Stanley is a premier destination for fishing, hiking, white water rafting, and horseback riding. This time of year, horseback riding and rafting may be sparse due to river levels and elk hunting trips. We're looking into a possible ATV rental ride.
