In the summer of 2013, Patrick and Laura were introduced by Laura's sister Andrea and her husband Daniel - who also happens to be Patrick's best friend. They saw qualities in Patrick and Laura that they thought would be compatible and they were absolutely right! Laura and Patrick were the perfect match.Fast forward 3 years to May of 2016. Patrick and Laura were visiting Laura's sister Ashley, her husband Jay and their new daughter, Claire in Asheville, NC. On their last night in town, the entire family had reservations at the extravagant Grove Park Inn. Patrick popped the question after a touching toast. Laura excitedly said yes, and the celebration ensued. Their story continues on August 5th, 2017!

Armory Square

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is home to more than 700 animals of all shapes and sizes. From our smallest invertebrate to our largest mammal (Asian elephant), the zoo offers unique viewing opportunities for its guests. The zoo is open year-round. Sixty percent of our exhibits are indoors. Our outdoor exhibits remain open for the winter and include species chosen for their ability to adapt to our region's climate.
