What should I wear?
For our wedding, we kindly ask guests to dress in summer semi-formal attire—polished yet comfortable for a warm-ish-weather celebration. Women can opt for flowy long dresses or an elegant skirt and top in light, breathable fabrics. Men can wear a lightweight suit or dress pants with a button-down shirt, with ties optional but polished footwear preferred. Since we'll be by the water, consider sunglasses or a light shawl for the evening breeze. We can't wait to celebrate with you in style!
Do locals speak English?
Yes! Nearly 99% of locals speak English. You will have no issues asking questions, ordering at restaurants, getting around, etc.
What is the best way to get around in Amsterdam?
Every time we've been to Amsterdam, we have walked everywhere. Using a bicycle seems good in theory, but the locals take traveling by bike to another level. For first timers, we wouldn't recommend this method of transportation. If you want to go a further distance, ask your hotel reception about local taxi services available.
What time should I arrive to the ceremony?
Doors open at 4:00 PM, ceremony begins at 4:30 PM.
What events are planned besides the wedding?
1. We’re planning an OPTIONAL group brunch on Sunday around 1:00 PM for anyone interested. Location is TBD.
2. Friday night we will have a welcome party at Hotel Mercier, time is TBD
Will there be an open bar at the reception?
Cocktail hour after the ceremony is cash bar. For dinner three glasses of wine per guests will be provided. There will be an open bar aboard the Monne de Miranda for the reception.
Are kids welcome at the wedding?
We would prefer no kids over the age of 3.
Do I need to bring a gift, or is there a registry?
Your presence at our wedding means the world to us, and we truly appreciate the effort it takes to travel to Europe to celebrate with us. Because of this, we won’t be having a traditional registry. If you’d like to give a gift, please know that it is completely optional, and your love and support are more than enough!
What should I do if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?
Should you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, please share this information when you RSVP.
