We met 4 years ago through a mutual friend at a small gathering, and the moment was mainly memorable due to our odd selections of outfits; Laura in her oversized ninja turtle hoodie with her head in a laptop and Cliff (coming from yoga) in his army thermal pants that he wore under shorts and a headband pushing back his hair causing it to stick straight up. I don’t know how we didn’t fall in love instantly!

Since both of us were in other relationships, we didn’t really take too much notice of each other except for perhaps an intrigued glance. It wasn’t until later, after our other relationships had reached an end, that our friend decided to be sneaky and play matchmaker. He told both of us that the other was interested, which had been slightly embellished. Going off of this slightly exaggerated information, a line of communication was soon struck up between us.

Since we both were coming out of relationships, it was important to us to make sure a true friendship was formed before jumping into anything serious. After several hang outs, movies, and late nights of staying up chatting about all the things we loved, we both realized that our feelings had moved beyond a friendship. This led to spending 4 years together sharing all the highs and lows of life (a pandemic/quarantine!!), but still growing and sharing all the things we loved with each other.

After a casual evening at one of our favorite dinner spots, and after enjoying a good laugh with each other at home, Cliff got down on one knee and Laura said “Yes!”.

We both are so excited to be able to spend the rest of our lives together (occasionally still wearing questionable outfits), and we look forward to getting to share it with all of you!

On October 18th, 2022, the most beautiful baby boy entered the world. He was the perfect little addition to our family, and we are blessed to have him in our lives.
