Take a step back in time on a century-old cable car that will pick you up near Station Square and take you up to overlooks of Mount Washington. Here you will be able to see breathtaking views of the Pittsburgh skyline which will provide excellent picture taking opportunities! If you choose to spend your time walking Grandview Avenue, there are plenty of places to dine on Mount Washington as well as at the bottom of the incline at Station Square. If you visit the incline website, they will provide you with several dining options.

The Strip District

11th to 33rd Street and Penn Avenue

Become a true "yinzer" by spending your morning stopping at all the different shops, restaurants, and marketplaces in the Strip District. The Strip District runs between 11th and 33rd Street on Penn Avenue as well as various side streets including the brand new 'Strip District Terminal' located on Smallman Street. You haven't truly visited "The Burgh" without spending time in this Pittsburgh hot spot!

If you are looking for some true Pittsburgh eats, then Primanti Brothers is an absolute MUST. Known for their delicious, handcrafted sandwiches piled high with house-made coleslaw and perfectly seasoned fresh-cut fries, you cannot pass up a chance of trying one of these bad boys!


The Market District location would be within walking distance from the hotel, but an additional location is the original Primanti Bros in the Strip District located at 46 18th St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

After enjoying your morning taking in current Pittsburgh life in the Strip District, and after stopping to enjoy a delicious Primanti Bros sandwich, stop on down at the Heinz History Museum to take in some history of Western PA. The Senator John Heinz History Center family of museums and programs includes the Heinz History Center, Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, Fort Pitt Museum, Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, Detre Library & Archives, and the new Museum Conservation Center.

Point State Park Fountain

Point state park, located at the confluence of three rivers, is at the tip of Pittsburgh’s “Golden Triangle”. At the focal point of the park is the stunning fountain that provides ample space for people to sit and relax. If weather is permitting, this is a great place for a walk and an outdoor picnic with plenty of walking/biking paths as well as promenades down by the water.

The Andy Warhol Museum

The Carnegie Science Center is located in North Shore and is one of the most popular of the Museums (and our personal favorite). It has four floors of interactive exhibits, the Buhl Planetarium, a WWII Submarine, the Miniature Railroad & Villages, Roboworld, and more!
