Our Wedding

Welp, we met on a dating app. Just gonna leave that right here, on the off chance you didn't know already. After a few witty back-and-forth conversations via the Bumble messaging platform (do we get royalties or something?), we both arrived at the decision to meet for lunch. Neither of us had very high expectations for the date - we lived 80+ miles apart, it had taken us over a month to coordinate our schedules, and who knew if either of us actually came close to resembling our respective profile pictures.Nevertheless, we proceeded; her wanting to "get free food and drinks from a hot guy," and him all but feeling the same. But about a girl. That sounded a bit narcissistic. Sorry not sorry. We met, there were sparks, we made out, and decided it would be in both of our best interests if we met again. Which we did the very next day. And pretty much all the times we could after that.Fast-forward to a decision to road trip to Portland. Which we did. So now we're in Portland. After a day of gallivanting around the city (read: drinking beers), enjoying the local fares (read: drinking beers), and visiting a selection of the city's finest breweries (read: well, you get it), we ended up on the roof at 10 Barrel Brewing, co where some very serious feels were dropped from both parties involved. It's a pretty weird feeling when you realize that this is it; that you've found your person. Or your lobster, if you're in to that rom-com nonsense. There were no other conversations around, there wasn't even a backdrop any more. Just the other. Laughing. Smiling. Listening. But that's pretty much what happened. On the roof of a taproom in Portland, OR, no less.We decided to take a walk down by the river, all the lights from all the bridges spanning the Columbia providing a pretty legit backdrop. After ending up down on a small beach, s**t got pretty real. Having no real prior thought to the proposal, he borrowed one of her costume rings and proceeded to drop down on to one knee.No joke, her response was as follows: "get up."Despite this minor setback, she still said "yes." Tears ensued. And now we're making a wedding website.THE END.

so here's a little story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside-down...

Our Story

Details

Photos

He once saved a horse and rode a cowboy. It wasn't all it was cracked up to be. It took, like, 6 hours to go 2 miles to the grocery store. Shoulda stuck with the horse, country music.

Tyler Kellner

She once saved and entire community of pygmy goats from a flash flood. In heels. Afterwards she proceeded to commandeer a tractor and rolled up to the club. True story.

Lauren Burger

He once got the drop on Chuck Norris while breaking up a Peruvian blanket smuggling ring. Chuck was so distraught over the whole thing that he retired from TV. Ever wonder why Walker: Texas Ranger is no longer on?

RJ Stroshine

She once filled in for Angus Young at an AC/DC concert. No one knew the difference. Since then she has been asked back on several occasions, however politely declining each time, claiming it would be a conflict of interest with her other obligation as a hair double for Axl Rose.

Charlana Brown

She once led Disneyland security on a park-wide foot chase after she attempted to "free the indentured children working tirelessly on It's A Small World." Lasting all of 23.5 minutes, the chase went down in Disney's books as the third-longest in park history. Later given a pardon by Disney Governor M. Mouse, she continues to make annual appearances outside that fateful ride to educate young visitors about the dangers of confusing animatronics with real people.

Krystal Carroll

He once had an interesting-off with The Most Interesting Man in the World. He came in both first place and third place. Your move, Dos Equis.

Cesar Quezada

Well...she's mermaid. And a nurse. A nursemaid? Mernurse? Either way, District 30 clearly made a huge mistake. Also, we'll need to enlist a few folks to carry her water tank down the aisle. Cause, you know, no feet. Mermaid stuff.

Q + A

This Holiday Inn is the preferred location for The Firehouse, so please call them directly to book your room(s). Use the following super-secret awesome special code to get the special rate of $104/night: ILFHG. Or don't use it and pay more money. Up to you. Also - we've been getting some feedback from people booking rooms about the hotel not recognizing the code. Please make sure to let them know it is a Firehouse Restaurant promo code and not necessarily associated with our names. Sorry for the confusion for those of you who have already booked. Drinks and dinner on me to compensate.
