Scott Phillips- Royal Oak, MI - Best Man
Tim met Scott during their years playing peewee baseball. They never played on the same team until later years, which meant Scott had to bat against Tim’s fastball while he tried to bunt and run it out (he was one of the few that could pull this off). Their friendship really took off in college when Tim transferred to Kennesaw State University and pledged Pi Kappa Phi where they became fraternity brothers. Throughout the years, Scott was always there when needed and was never more than a phone call away. Recently, he has moved to Michigan with his wife(Ashley) and daughter Taryn, but distance cannot affect a friendship like this one. Lauren and Tim are so thankful that Scott is able to be a part of their big day.
Savannah Burton- Memphis, TN - Matron of Honor
Savannah and Lauren met in college when they rushed Alpha Delta Pi in 2005. They became wonderful friends and formed a bond that only grew stronger throughout the years. No telling what Savannah and she would get into on the weekends (and weekdays). Whether it was throwing a huge house party, eating hot wings (and hiding the evidence from Michaela), doing ZUMBA classes, dancing on a bar at Double Deuce, making up rap songs, or randomly joining a soccer team- Lauren could always count on Savannah to be a loyal partner in crime. They became roommates in their last 3 years of college and that experience would not be traded for the world. It is hard to find true friendships like this one and Tim and Lauren are so blessed to be able to share this special day with her.Savannah has accomplished so much and has become a licensed therapist. She married Bradley Burton (also a dear friend and usher) and has an adorable little boy named Ethan.
Michaela Whitehead- Huntsville, AL - Matron of Honor
In 2005, Lauren accepted a bid from Alpha Delta Pi Sorority while attending college at the University of Memphis. She was absolutely thrilled to experience all that Greek life had to offer- but she did not know how lucky she would be to find a life long friend.
During those years at the U of M, Michaela and Lauren went to parties and formals, danced the night away, and sang Celine Dion and Beyonce at the top of their lungs. They got some bad fake tans, went through a few interesting relationships, and made some questionable decisions- and loved every second of it! Shenanigans aside, they were each others confidants and sounding boards. Some tears were shed, they helped each other through some really hard times, and Lauren could always count on Michaela to give the best advice. When Michaela became a licensed therapist, she truly found her calling and Lauren is so proud of the person she has become!
Michaela found the love of her life, Paul Whitehead (also a dear friend and usher) in 2012 and they have 2 adorable children- Miriam and Issac.
Michaela is one of Lauren's very best friends and it honestly feels more like family.
Jamie Gasbarro- Scottsdale, AZ - Bridesmaid
Jamie and Lauren met during the summer of 2011 while working at Briarcliff Animal Hospital. Both of them had just moved to Atlanta and knew absolutely no one (Jamie from NY and Lauren from TN). Jamie and Lauren will both tell you that they did not like each other at first- Lauren thought Jamie was too quiet and Jamie thought Lauren was standoffish. Come to find out that was not the case - they were both just REALLY tired of working 6 AM shifts. One day, Jamie saw Lauren smiling at her phone and asked "what are you looking at"? Lauren said "Oh, just a picture of my cat - he's really cute". Jamie looked at Lauren and said, "you like cats? I like cats too". They proceeded to show each other a ridiculous amount of cat pictures - and the rest is history. You know that feeling that you have known someone forever? That's how it was with the two of them! Jamie is one of the most kind, loyal, and special friends that you could ask for. Everyone meets for a reason and they are so thankful for crossing paths. Whether they were eating an entire ice cream cake on the couch (don't judge), watching a silly reality show, or going out on the town - they had the best time. Last year, Jamie received an offer in Arizona for the job of her dreams. Although they don't have each other around the corner anymore - friendships like that don't diminish because of distance. When they talk on the phone and see each other, it is like no time has passed. It means the world that she can be a part of this special day.
Brian Gensheimer- Atlanta, GA - Groomsman
Tim met Brian in middle school when they were both members of the band and shared the same teacher pod. Throughout high school, they were always seen together. If it wasn’t waking everyone up at band camp or spending countless hours detailing their cars, they were getting in trouble going to Walmart with neon under-body lighting. After high school, Brian went to college Georgia Southern where he met his wife Liz. Tim was down there every other weekend visiting them and causing trouble. From high school road trips, car shows, and beach vacations, they are always a phone call away.
Sara Marshman- Alexandria, VA - Bridesmaid
Sara is Tim's older sister and Lauren is so happy to have gotten to know her as she and Tim have dated. Sara is married to Chris McClintock (one of Tim's groomsmen) and they both live in Alexandria, Virginia. At the moment, she practices law, but she and Chris are opening up a brewery in Washington, DC in the near future. Lauren and Tim are so proud of their determination!Over the years, They have all had so much fun at holiday dinners, Marshman beach trips, and weddings. Lauren felt honored to be a part of Sraa's wedding day in 2016.Lauren is looking forward to calling Sara her sister-in-law and honored that she is a bridesmaid.
Chris McClintock- Alexandia, VA - Groomsman
Chris is married to Tim's sister, Sara, and they live in Alexandria, VA with their dog Mischa. Chris currently practices law, but is planning on opening up a brewery in the near future! Throughout the years, Chris has been a wonderful brother-in-law to Tim and a valued member of the Marshman family. Tim and Lauren are so excited to have him as a groomsman and are so thankful to have him in their lives. As Chris would say, "Cheers"!
Preston Jordan- Atlanta, GA - Groomsman
Tim met Preston at Country Brook Montessori School when they were 3 years old. Although they went to different schools after this, it did not affect their ability to meet up and carry on like they were never apart. From childhood sleep overs and Gywnn Valley camp, to rescuing Tim from work during the snowstorm of 2014, Preston has always been there. Preston now owns his own business Xtatik Imaging (shameless plug) where Tim pays for vinyl application with six packs of beer.
Patrick Thomas- Atlanta, GA - Groomsman
Tim met Patrick during Scott's (Tim's best man) wedding weekend. Patrick is married to Christine, one of Lauren's bridesmaids. Their friendship has grown over a mutual love of Braves baseball (Patrick might be a little more obsessed) and the occasional adult beverage. They have travelled to Florida for Braves spring training the last five years and multiple trips to the north Ga Mountains. Of course camping to them is a luxury cabin with a loaded cable package and copious beverages. Patrick has had patience to put up with Lauren and Christine’s shenanigans which makes him a truly great person and proud to have him standing up during the wedding.
Christine Thomas- Atlanta, GA - Bridesmaid
Christine and Lauren met through Tim as they began dating. She is married to Tim's good friend Patrick (also one of his groomsmen). If there is a party to be thrown, she will certainly be the host! What a talent to somehow juggle work, family, friends, and partying so gracefully. It is through these many fun events that Lauren and Christine have become such wonderful friends. Whether they are having mimosas at brunch (hold the OJ), grilling out at a Braves game, or having a Disney movie night - it is always a great time. They bonded over their love for their fur babies -and surely their other friends think they are absurd with the amount of weird animal memes they share on a daily basis. At the end of the day- the oddities make it fun and as Christine would say, "YOU KNEW WHAT THIS WAS".
