Are the kiddos welcome?
While we adore your little ones, our wedding is an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us. Care.com offers babysitters in the area.
Can I bring a guest?
If a guest is not clearly specified on your RSVP, we ask that you arrive "Han style" (solo), due to strict venues limitations.
Is the venue indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will be held outdoors while the reception will be in a covered space with A/C.
What about parking?
Complimentary overnight parking will be provided at the venue, with the parking lot located right next to where the ceremony will be held. Golf carts will take guests from the ceremony to the reception site (5 minute walk). Of course, car pooling is encouraged! If you leave your car overnight, please be so kind to pick it up first thing in the morning. Uber/Lyft are readily available in the area. We reccomend scheduling your ride in advance if you use a ride share.
What is the history of the venue?
Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens is a beautiful, historic event space in the Charleston area and a functioning farmland. However, what is now a gorgeous waterfront dock and gardens area, had a complicated past. It's history involving slavery is now used as a way to educate its visitors of our country's turbulent past, with tributes to the Gullah and Geechee cultures and regular philanthropic donations to local African American communities.
