How does the train work?
You will arrive at the Essex Steam Train Station, 1 Railroad Ave, Essex, CT, either by driving directly there or taking the bus shuttle from the Hilton Garden Inn. The train will take you directly to The Lace Factory where the ceremony and reception will be held. The train will depart promptly at 3:55, so please do not be late. At the end of the evening, the train will be at the Lace Factory at 10 PM to bring you back to your car or the bus shuttle.
Do I have to ride the train?
We hope that all of our guests will have the opportunity to ride this 19th-century steam train! If you need different accommodations, please reach out to us as soon as possible to confirm parking at the venue.
What if I need to leave before 10 PM?
Please reach out to us directly if you need to leave early. Parking at The Lace Factory is extremely limited and will need to be confirmed with us in advance.
Are children allowed at the wedding?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate for children outside of the wedding party.
What's the dress code?
The dress code is cocktail, which to us means we want you to wear what you feel best in! Women can wear short or long dresses, men can wear a suit, jacket or button down and tie.
Is the wedding outside?
The ceremony and reception will be inside in an air conditioned room. We are hopeful to have the cocktail hour outside on the courtyard grass though!
Where is the closest airport?
The closest airport is in Providence, RI. You can also fly to Hartford, but the drive will be slightly longer. Unfortunately, shuttle service is not available and transportation will need to be arranged. Please reach out to us and we may be able to make introduction to other guests that might be headed in the same direction.
