Friends and Family,&nbsp;

We are happy to announce that we were married on&nbsp;June 19, 2020. Though the day was special and intimate, it was missing one thing- all of you! Thank you to those who&nbsp;tuned in and live-streamed our nuptials- we could definitely feel your presence. As wonderful as virtually celebrating with everyone was, we want to do it in person! We will be having a celebration of our marriage at our original reception venue, Heartwood Hall,&nbsp; on June 12, 2021. More details to come. We can't wait to see everyone there! In the meantime, we hope you stay safe and healthy and we look forward to celebrating BIG once all of this mess is over.&nbsp;

It is with heavy hearts that we have an announcement to make about our upcoming wedding.







Since the health and safety of our loved ones is&nbsp;our number one priority, we have made the difficult&nbsp;decision to limit our wedding ceremony&nbsp;to our parents and siblings only.&nbsp;&nbsp;Since we still want all of the people we love to be involved, we will be live streaming&nbsp;our nuptials starting at 4:45 PM&nbsp;on June 19, 2020&nbsp;through the following link:&nbsp;

David and I met in September of 2011, shortly after starting our freshman year at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. We had mutual friends, and were both invited to hang out one weekend. A couple of nights after we first met, I got a friend request on Facebook from David, followed shortly by a message discretely asking for my number. From there, we went to multiple date parties together throughout our first semester of college. We had a lot of fun together that semester, but for some reason it just wasn’t our time. We went our separate ways most of college and as David says “practiced” dating other people for when we decided to come back into each other’s lives. Four years later, we ran into each other at a party. The next day, David texted me and we have talked every single day since. We officially started dating on August 6, 2015. The first year of our relationship we both lived in Fayetteville. I was still in nursing school and he was working as a PT tech. Once I graduated nursing school, I made the hardest decision I have ever had to make and decided to move&nbsp;back home to Memphis to pursue my career as a neonatal ICU nurse. Since then, we have been long distance. A year after I moved to Memphis, David moved to Bolivar, MO to go to school to become a physical therapist. Though living five hours away from each other has been challenging at times, it has only made our relationship stronger.

How we met 

Almost exactly 3 years and 3 months into our relationship, David had my good friend Mary Cullen&nbsp;ask me&nbsp;to have a "girl's day" after what she told me was a difficult week at work. We went shopping, got our nails done, and had lunch, things that we do together regularly. I asked David earlier in the week if I could come see him in Bolivar that weekend. He convinced me that he had an extremely busy upcoming week in school and that I should probably stay home in Memphis. I was a little disappointed, but didn't think anything of it.&nbsp;Mary Cullen&nbsp;had told me that we needed to do something fun that night and go downtown for drinks and dinner.&nbsp;It didn't take much convincing for me to agree,&nbsp;so we started thinking of places we could go.&nbsp;Mary Cullen told me that one of her coworkers had told her about this new bar (that doesn't exist)&nbsp;close to the old bridge and that we should have drinks there and watch the sunset before we go to&nbsp;dinner. As the day went on, I could tell she was getting increasingly stressed out about getting downtown in time for the sunset. Confused, I told her that it wasn't that big of a deal if we missed the sunset, then proceeded to take my time in every store we went into. Somehow, Mary Cullen convinced me to&nbsp;finish up my shopping and we headed downtown towards the "new bar" just in time for sunset. We pulled into the parking lot for Big River Crossing which is not a "new bar," but a new walking bridge that goes across the Mississippi River from Tennessee to Arkansas. Once we parked she told me to get out of the car. I was extremely confused and a little freaked out. We started walking towards the bridge. I saw David standing there in the middle of the bridge and at that point she told me to keep walking alone.&nbsp; I met David on the bridge and he took me to the Tennessee/&nbsp;Arkansas state line where he asked me to marry him at sunset. That moment is a complete blur, but I know it was one of the happiest moments of my life. When David and I came off the bridge, our parents were there waiting for us.&nbsp;It was the most perfect day.

This is the primary hotel we have chosen to host our guests during&nbsp;our wedding weekend. It is located right next door to the church where we will be getting married. Be sure to book your reservation as soon as possible, as rooms are limited and&nbsp;we want to make sure all of our guests are able to book the rooms they need. We do not have a room block reserved for this hotel, but is a good option for an additional hotel conveniently located to the events of the weekend. It is located in the outdoor mall so it is close to a lot of shopping and things to do.

The Bass Pro Shop inside the Pyramid is definitely something to see. Make sure to ride the elevator to the restaurant on the top to get a beautiful view of the city!

Big River Crossing is a walking bridge on the Mississippi River that goes from Tennessee to Arkansas. It is where David proposed!

The Peabody is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of&nbsp;downtown Memphis. Hang out in the lobby or go up to the rooftop for a beautiful view! And don’t forget about visiting the famous ducks!

Shelby Farms is a public park that has lots of walking trails, bike trails, a restaurant, and much more! Rent anything from bikes to kayaks or just take a walk around the lake. It is one of David and I's favorite places to go here in Memphis.

Overton Square is an area in Midtown Memphis with lots of shopping and restaurants. My very first apartment was right down the street and our first house we will live in after the wedding is within walking distance from Overton Square. David and I have gone on many date nights there!

Crosstown Concourse is the former Sears distribution center that was recently renovated. It contains a lot of stores and unique restaurants. It also has a brewery next door called “Crosstown Brewery” if you’re wanting to try some locally brewed beer.

Collierville Town Square has a lot of restaurants and&nbsp;places to&nbsp;shop. It is located right down the street from the host hotel and would be a perfect option if you aren't wanting to venture all the way into the city.

Carriage Crossing is the newest outdoor mall in the Memphis/Collierville area. It is conveniently located to the host hotel and has plenty of shopping!

The Civil Rights Museum is located downtown at the former Lorraine Motel.&nbsp;

The Rendezvous is a famous barbeque restaurant in an alley in downtown Memphis. If you're looking for good barbeque, Rendezvous is the place to go.

Central BBQ is David's favorite barbeque place in Memphis. The nachos are our favorite! There are multiple locations around the city- this location is the closest option to the host hotel but if you venture into the city, be sure to check the closest location to wherever you are.

Babalu is a restaurant in Overton Square in Midtown Memphis. It is one of our favorite date night spots! This location is the original location but there is another location closer to the host hotel.

Gus's is a good option if you are looking for something started local that is not barbeque. There are multiple locations throughout the city but his location is located in the Collierville Square very close to the host hotel.

Muddy's is my favorite local bakery. Be sure to try one of their cupcakes- they are all amazing!

Huey's is a local restaurant known for their burgers. There are multiple locations around the city but this location is right down the street from the host hotel.

Jerry's is a local snow cone place that has been around for a long time.&nbsp;It is very&nbsp;well known and loved in Memphis. They only accept cash so don't forget that! The location listed is the original location, but there is another location that is not as far into the city.

Gibson's is a local donut shop that is by far the best donuts in the city. It located in the East Memphis area, about 15-20 minutes away from the host hotel but definitely worth it!

Dyer's is a historic restaurant that has been around for over a century. They claim that what makes their burgers so good is that they have been using the same grease since the restaurant opened in 1912! This is the original location on Beale Street downtown&nbsp;but there is a newer location off of the Collierville Town Square very close to the host hotel.

Loflin Yard is a bar/restaurant located in the South Main area of downtown Memphis. It is an indoor/outdoor bar that offers yard games and is a fun place to go if you're just looking to hang out.

Railgarten is located in Midtown Memphis. It is an old rail yard that is now home to a diner, tiki bar, and ping pong bar.

Raiford's is a disco themed bar and fun place to go if you're wanting to experience night life in Memphis.&nbsp;It is located down town and within walking distance of Beale Street.

Carolina Watershed is a restaurant/bar that is a good place to hang out. It is located in downtown Memphis.

Tops is another local barbeque favorite.&nbsp; There are many locations around the city- this location is the closest to the host hotel.

The Historic Arcade has been open since 1919 and has amazing food. I would recommend going for breakfast! It is located downtown near the Civil Rights Museum.
