A little bit about us.

How I Met Daniel ? (Leah Version)

Daniel likes to say we met online but I disagree. The journey began when I met some new friends at my then fresh job, Nissan of Austin. One weekend my boss and his wife invited me over for a “cowboy watch party.” What that was, I had no clue. I wasn’t too interested but decided to go to meet and of course make new friends. The girls were having there “girl talk” while the guys talked nothing but sports. Sounds pretty cliché. Not too long after, Denise, a co-worker’s wife, asked if I was single. She then mentioned she had a cousin that is also single and would like for us to meet and mingle. We started talking about him and how he was a family man. It didn’t take long for me to leap into the unknown which may have consisted with me sliding into his DM’s. I can surely say, I’m glad I did. A couple weeks later, after I celebrated my 30th birthday in California (Side note: we are exactly 2 days apart Daniel September 16,1986 Leah September 18,1986), he decided to come visit his cousin Denise & Ricky and also take me on a date. After that date, we planned to dive deeper in what we intrigued to discover. We decided to make the drive to see each other and it didn’t take long for our relationship to continue to grow. It all became a quick memory that evolved into a forever history.

However, things haven’t always been easy. A year into our relationship we decided to take a break. The distance was tough. We didn’t know how to mend things. Months later we decided to talk and work on things and truly focus on the relationship. It’s what we both wanted. And to make it work it had to be both of us working.

Daniel has opened my eyes to the beauty of the world. He has been the best tour guide not just throughout our travel excursions but our walk in everyday life. All my dreams have came true with this man. I knew this was the man I wanted. Although my proposal patience was tested, I wouldn’t have it any other way. We have made so many memories and have made the best of friends along the way.

Our memories are beautifully written history and our forever-filled future is all but blessings of mystery.

How I met Leah? (Daniel Version)

How does anyone now days meet? Online of course. If you ask Leah, we did not meet online, but our first interactions were online, the first time I saw her was her profile picture on Facebook, so to me we met online. Leah sent me a friend request first, before sliding into my DM’s trying to holla at me.

I still remember the first time she messaged me too; I was in Long Beach California. You might be asking yourself what was I doing in Long Beach, CA? Great question! Well, I was with my brother Bebo, Rubio, Jaime, Chris, & Eliseo. We were on vacation celebrating my brother’s bachelor party and my 30th birthday that year. It was sunny Sunday September 11, 2016, Americas Team the Dallas Cowboys was getting ready to play our division rival the New York Giants, and of course you know we couldn’t miss watching the boys play even though we were on vacation. So, we went to a bar/restaurant just off the Long Beach Shoreline Marina and enjoyed the day with great friends, food, & football. During the game I received a message from my cousin Denise asking if I was still single cause she has a friend. Her exact words were, “Are you single I got a friend. Single no kids never been married”. In my mind I’m immediately thinking single, never married, no kids, what’s wrong with her. But my reply to my cousin was, “yes, I’m single. Is she hot? That’s my type.” Denise then sends me a screen shot of her profile and I reply, “she looks pretty.” I didn’t add Leah on FB right away because I was too into the game at that moment. Cowboys were winning 7-0 by halftime but in true Cowboy fashion we ended up losing in the second half 7-10. Despite the loss, we were still having a great day enjoying the sunset by the marina and I was glad that Leah had sent me a friend request. Had she not, who know if we would be here today. We kept in contact throughout the day and got to know each other online more and more. A couple weekends after I got back from California, we would finally meet in person in Austin. We met up at Denise & Ricky’s apartment in Austin to go on our first date to have sushi. From there the relationship began to grow.

Our Travel Days Together?

We have been fortunate enough to travel to several different cities and states and made great memories together. From our first trip together in February 2017 to San Francisco and South Lake Tahoe for my friend Derrick & Jessica’s wedding. To our recent Halloween/Fall trip last October 2022 to Philadelphia, New Haven, Marthas Vineyard, Boston, & Salem. We have been to the east coast, west coast, and several states in-between. We have met several people along the way, some who have grown to become great friends and to this day still try to visit with at least once a year even though they are 1,000 miles away. Shoutout Minnesota!

Several of the trips that we have been on these last couple of years I’m sure some of you, including Leah, probably even thought I would get down on one knee and pop the big question. Like Niagara Falls in 2020, or New York in 2019 at the Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Time Square Drop Ball. How about at Disney World or Universal Studios in 2021. Let’s not forget about the beautiful islands and gorgeous beaches of Hawaii that we went to in 2022. Maybe even the great pyramids of the Sun & the Moon in Teotihuacán Mexico in 2019. I had the opportunity to propose at each of those places, but it didn’t happen on any of those trips. It happened in a more intimate setting with her immediate family during the Christmas holiday.

We have created countless memories along the way and really enjoyed our time together as a dating couple. I am now looking forward to continuing to travel and make even more great memories as a married couple.
