Located in my favorite Curacao neighborhood of Pietermaai, which is full of street art, boutiques, and other great restaurants. The restaurant overlooks the Caribbean Sea, and features international flavors. When we were there, we enjoyed watching the waves crash and seeing the scuba divers at night.

A local and tourist favorite, Plasa Bieu, in the capital city of Willemstad, offers several traditional eats. The atmosphere is very casual and set up cafeteria style. It's an interesting way to see over 50 different national influences. Some local dishes you can try are iguana soup, karni stoba (stewed beef), and bokel (salted mackerel). It's important to note that Plasa Bieu is open every day except Sunday and you must arrive before 1:30 pm. Otherwise, most of the dishes are sold out.

This delicious icy drink is a Spanish milkshake smoothie hybrid made with frozen fruit, milk and sugar. A cross between a milkshake and a smoothie, they come in a variety of tropical flavors, such as mango, papaya, pineapple or tamarind. You’ll see stands for batidos everywhere, especially at the beach.
